A few days later,

Garroth had figured it that his famous ex girlfriend and new brightport guard had been trying to get in contact with him.

She had taken it so far that she found out where he was at. She did pay him a visit, though she had gotten a little too 'touchy'.

And when Aphmau saw this, she was not happy.

"Garroth! You dick!" Aphmau shouted across the room, throwing something, probably glass towards Garroth's way.

The glass shattered by the wall, Garroth sighed heavily.

"I didn't know anything!" He shouted back, trying to get her to calm down.

"Who's this Azura girl anyway?!" She slammed her sword holster onto the kitchen counter, unsheathing it. She took the mithril blade, starting to sharpen it.

"What are you so worried about? Anyway?"

"Oh Garroth! It's been so long! You got so strong, oh my Irene!" Aphmau mocked the orange haired girl, batting her eyelashes, then rolling her eyes. The sharpening of metal just got more intense.

"Babe-"

"Don't babe me, Garroth." She scoffed shaking her head. "Why is she trying to contact you anyway?"

"I don't know, Aphmau. I really don't."

She laughed in disbelief. "She's still so into you. 'Oh my Irene Garroth! We should do get lunch sometime and we can catch up! I missed you so much!' " she mocked again.

"Aph-"

"Yeah Garroth, go get lunch with her, then maybe something will happen and then you'll end up in her bed the next day and she'll have your babies." Her eyes were starting to water.  Her vision started to get blurry.

She sharpened her sword again, both of them going silent.

"You're jealous.."  Garroth paused, finding the words.  "This isn't about Azura or me, isn't it?"

A tear slipped down her cheek.  "He got her pregnant, I still can't believe he did that.."  She mumbled under her breath.

He walked closer, as she sharpened her sword again, this time her hand getting in the way, causing her to cut it.

"Shit!" She hissed, dropping her sword.

The gash went from behind her thumb to her wrist.

Then she started to cry.

Aphmau Jessica Phoenix, the regions most wanted fugitive, one of the most powerful magiks users and fighters we know, is collapsed on the kitchen floor crying in front of her own boyfriend.

And that's when Garroth realized, the fight wasn't about Azura at all.

Her hand was bleeding way more, some of it dripping it on the floor.

"Aphmau," His voice gentle and soothing.  She slowly stood up, not wanting to look at him.

He took his fingers, tilting her chin so that she could look at him.

"I'm not going anywhere, and I will keep telling you that until you believe it.  Come here."  He engulfed her in a hug,  she wrapped the non bloody one around him, crying into his chest.

They parted, Aphmau going to the kitchen sink, cleaning herself up.

He took her sword, sheathing it.

"I'll be in the room if you want to talk."

She sniffled and nodded.  "I'm going to go talk to Laurnace for a little bit.  I'll be back soon.  Can I have my sword?"

He rose his brows.  "You'll be okay-"

"I cut myself once,". She finished wrapping her hand.  "I'll be fine, I promise."

"Love you."

"Love you too."

"You wanted to see me?"

Aphmau sighed. "I know we don't know each other super well, but I came here to ask about,"

"About?"

"You being a shadow knight."

He seemed to grimace at the word. "What do you want to know."

"You're not a full shadow knight, meaning when you're away from the nether for too long, it calls you back.  How have you been?"

He sighed.  "I can keep it at bay.  But it's getting harder.  I have to resist it.  But it seems to be getting harder every day."

She rested a hand on his shoulder.  "Hang in there okay?"

He nodded, smiling.  "Thanks for caring."

She smiled back.  Aphmau was about to leave until Laurnace stopped her.

"Your eyes are puffy."

"It's nothing, I promise."

He didn't say anything.  He let her go.

Aphmau was liked black to the rented house where garroth was waiting for her.  She walked through he door, then up the stairs where Garroth was waiting for her.

She put down her sword and sat on the bed.

"Wanna talk about it?"

She nodded, nuzzling by him.  "My ex boyfriend, he used to be a thief, he stole my heart."

Garroth chuckled at her pun.  "Go on,"

"And I really loved him, until one day he came to me explaining he was banging some chick behind my back for two months.  And he said that he got her pregnant."  She sniffled.  "And I know it still shouldn't hurt, but he ripped my heart in two, leaving me to heal by myself."

"Aphmau,"

"His son is three months old.  He must be cute."

Garroth didn't say anything, he just comforted her silently.

"Everything's going to be okay."  He stroked her back gently.  "Because we're going to mend that broken heart of yours. Together."

Together..
