January 16 (three months later)
In the past three months, Garroth pretty much ruined his sword.
He was in combat and the metal just broke in half, meaning the person he was fighting had to be really strong.
He was using a regular one, which was a little light compared to what he was used to and he thought he looked so lame.
Three weeks before his birthday (which was January 17th) she went to the the best blacksmith she knew to have a personal sword forged for him.
She got the same diamond infused metal again, but sturdier with more improvements.
The handle was engraved with lots of detail, she asked if he could carve the phrase 'G + A' in a heart.
The sword was just a tad bit longer and just the right weight for him.
She went to the blacksmith to pick it up, paying around $145 because she got a deal.
And this sword was beautiful.
She thought about how it matched his eyes so well. She hid the sword in the holster, slinging it on her back, going to meet Garroth.
He also wanted to go back to the house that they rented on her birthday.
They met up and Garroth immediately asked why she had two swords.
"I'm trying to duel wield."
"Duel wielding is hard."
"Are you saying I'm not capable?"
"No, I'm just saying that it's difficult."
They arrived to Phoenix Drop at around noon, the day before his birthday.
They entered, seeing that nothing much has changed.
We set our stuff down and Garroth wanted me to sit on the floor so he could practice braiding Aphmau's hair.
"Why do you want to practice more?"
"Because if we have a daughter someday, which I hope we will eventually, I want to be able to do her hair."
He started to brush Aphmau's long silky hair, as her heart melted from his words. He was able to do one French braid which was fairly tight so he wanted to try to do two.
He parted her hair down the middle, tying one side so that he could focus on one at a time.
He repeated the steps of a French braid but with less hair.
When he was finished, he tied her hair and worked on the other side.
Then he finished, seeing that he actually accomplished it.
"At this point, you'll be better than me."
He grinned happily, just like a little kid. Aphmau would give anything to keep him like that.
She treated Garroth to lunch and a snack as they looked at the pier. The salty ocean air was familiar scent to her.
Winters in Phoenix drop had gotten pretty cold. The sand was cold at the touch, causing them to run back to the comfort of the house.
They went back to the house, it was already night and they showered, changing and plopping on the bed together, falling asleep.

Aphmau got up extra early, making sure not to wake Garroth. She checked on his gift, seeing hat it was still where she left it.
She went to the kitchen and started to cook breakfast.
She worked on pancakes, eggs and bacon. She stacked three pancakes on top of each other, putting the bacon and eggs beside them.
She put blueberries on top, along with butter and syrup.
She grabbed the plate, waiting at the bedroom door, knocking quietly.
"Good morning sunshine, I have breakfast."
"Hm? Sunshine?" His eyes lazily turned over to his girlfriend who was in his over sized collared shirt and long socks.
A smile tugged his lips, seeing the two things he loved the most.
His girlfriend and pancakes.
"Good morning Aphmau." He sat up as she walked over and set the plate and fork in front of him.
He took a couple bites, delighted.
"Happy twenty-second birthday, you big hunk of dork, I love you more than you know."
He swallowed. "I love you too. And this is really good, thank you."
"Hurry and eat I have to give you your present." She smirked, sitting beside him.
"I told you not to get me anything,"
"Well, I didn't listen. So I got you something anyway."
They talking about the most random things and went over how much they love each other.
She pulled the necklace he gave her out from under her shirt and smiled as he finished.
She set down the plate, reaching under the bed for the sword.
Garroth gasped slightly, "Aphmau you didn't," He said as he saw her pick up the sword.
"You actually believed I would duel wield?" Se laughed. "That's not my style."
He looked down at the handle, seeing a the little details and engravings. He noticed the 'A + G' with a heart and he looked at her, his eyes wide.
"This is custom made? Aphmau, YouDidntNeedToGetMeAnything-"
"Just unsheathe it, dork. You were devastated when your old one broke."
He did as told, his gaze looking at the blue beauty. He smiled, looking at her.
"I got it in blue because I thought it would suit your eyes. And I can't see Garroth without a blue sword."
He chuckled, sheathing it again, engulfing her in a hug, kissing her temple.
"This is the best gift. Thank you."
Aphmau nodded response, picking up the sword.
"It's not too heavy is it?"
She unsheathed it, the sword was a little heavy for her, holding it with both hands in front of her. He chuckled, standing up and guiding her from behind, kissing her neck when he hand the chance.
"It's perfect,"
He gripped the blue and silver handle over her hands, waving it around slightly.
They laughed, sheathing it, letting him connect it to his armor.
Try spent the day relaxing, talking, kissing, dancing. They spent the day together, both having a great time regardless.
A/n: the next chapter is going to be when time actually flies by super quickly.
