Jason's POV
I am awaken by the sunlight beaming in on me. The shutters are open letting all the light flood into the room.
Autumn still lays by my side, sound asleep. Her chest goes up then falls down indicating her breaths. I decide on staying in the warmth of the covers with Autumn, breakfast can wait.
The smell of food is flowing into the room. The smell of Crisp bacon, scrambled eggs, thick pancakes and plenty other foods fill my nostrils. It's so tempting to get up but instead I just lay here motionless.
As I think about the food more my stomach gives a loud grumble that awakes Autumn. Her blue eyes sparkle like the sea as she looks around the room. When she finds me looking at her, she smiles.
She rests her head back down on my chest but perks it back up immediately. She takes a big whiff of the air and sighs with a smile.
She stands up from the bed and stars to walk to the door.
"Where are you going?" I question her already knowing the answer.
"Breakfast." she replies as she leaves my room and enters the dinning hall.
I walk over to my dresser and pull out a pair of track pants and soft Cotten T-shirt. I put on the clothes then walk out to the dinning hall tiredly.
I look around and see only a few people. Autumn, Tyai and Blair. They all sit at the table helping themselves to a bunch of foods scattered Around the table.
I take a seat at the end of the table then start to pile things onto my plate. I first pick up a buttered roll and start to eat, I finish it in less than a minute. I start to eat some of my scrambled eggs. When I finish I move on to the bacon, then waffles until I couldn't eat anymore.
I get up from my seat and start to head over to the living room. I walk over to the couch in the living room and sit down feeling scared and stressed about the games. The games are in 2 hours so in a few minutes im about to go down will Tyai to go for a private session with him.
I feel the soft leather of the couch knowing i wont feel anything like it again.
"Jason, its time." I hear Tyai say.
"Ok" I answer with fear in my voice.
I move myself from the couch and make my way to the elevator. Before the doors close i give a glance at autumn and quickly mouth something. 'I love you.'
Her sad eyes make me feel empty inside, I feel bad for her, but I cant do anything.
I try to focus but it gets harder and harder as the elevator shoots downwards causing me to loose concentration.
My palms start to sweat a little so I wipe them on my pants before the doors open. The training center is vacant and silent.
I clear my thoughts as I walk over to the spear section. I grab a spear and get a firm grasp before I bring it back. I bring it far back then throw it using most of my force. The spear lands in the dummy's neck. I smile to myself on the inside but on the out, my face stays straight.
After a couple more tosses of some spears I move on to something new.
I'm pretty decent with an ax, I've tried it a couple of times therefore I walk to the ax section.
I put on a belt that holds two axes then hold one in my hand. The handle of the ax is smoky grey, the top part is faded black and the large thick blade is scarlet red.
I scout out the dummies and all of a sudden notice one glow a bright kind of orange color. I bring back the ax then before I throw take a step. When I throw, it spirals in the air before it hits the dummy in the thigh.
The second ax I throw sideways like a saucer and it sinks into the dummy's stomach.
I throw a couple more before I move onto building fires, making traps, fishing and nets.
I start with nets. Their are different types of material depending on the climate your in so I choose a long type of thin grass. It's about a few inches wide and about a meter tall. I grab at least five before I sit down by a fake log in the fake forest. I start weaving the grass together from a pattern. In about five minutes I finish with the net. There are a couple mistakes here and there but it looks pretty strong and sturdy so I move onto fishing.
I gather some supplies for fishing, just the essentials: sticks, string ect. I also grab an awl to make the fishing hooks.
I walk over to a built in small river and start making the rod. When I finish I feel it looks pretty flexible, bendable and strong so I test it out.
Apparently I thought wrong.
When I threw the hook in the water with my bare on it, a salmon went straight for it. It was a particularly big fish for its kind. The fish rushes and swam over to it and bit down onto the bate. His lip was now pierced by the sharp hook I made but now the fish had started to pull away from the hook causing me to pull. The fish did not give up and started pulling harder until my rod bent to much and broke and at that same time my string had snapped and whipped me in the face.
I walk over to the spear section again and grab a spear then rush back over to the stream.
I locate the salmon and launch my spear at it. It pierces through he's whole body. I rip my spear out of the fish, then it floats up to the surface of the water indicating he's dead.
I toss the spear back over to its section and start to walk over to the fire starting section.
I jog quickly over to the fire starting supplies and grab many small pieces of wood, some birch, some dry dead leaves and some other materials. I head back over to where I'm making my fire then set my small wood and twigs into a tipi. inside the small tipi I put, the leaves, the birch, dry grass, some pine needles and other twigs but I make sure to leave room for the oxygen.
I run back over to the river to grab two stones then I run back to my fire.
When I get back to my fire I start to smack the rocks together. I do it continuously until a few stray sparks fly of, they land inside the tipi and fall onto the birch, for a second I thought that it disappeared then a small flame lit, it grew bigger an bigger as it found more things to ignite.
I run over to the traps knowing I'm almost out of time. I quickly grab the supplies then start constructing. By the end I have snare set up and ready to go.
"Good job, you might actually survive out there." he says this time actually meaning it.
We walk into the elevator without another word and head back up to our floor. When the doors open again we're at our floor. Autumn's already gone and nobody else is awake yet.
"Ok, I'll see you soon." He says.
"Good luck." he adds.
And with that he leaves me alone thinking about the games. I look around for a clock and find one. I look at it then realize 1 hour, 1 hour until the games of death commence.
