6 Months Later

I woke up the next morning still grieving over the death of my best friend. I finally realized that I was the only kid living in this house. Others just left, others got adopted.

I walked downstairs making breakfast for Eric and Karen. A couple weeks ago, they finally told me their real names. We could only call them Mr. and Mrs. before.

I also started school again. It wasn't easy. I went into school not knowing anyone and also joining high school. Everyone had their cliques, and I was just in the shadows.

I went back upstairs getting dressed for school. Karen decided to give me some of her clothes when I moved back in, but they only did that to make me stay since they do receive money for this.

Grabbing my backpack, I ran downstairs running out the door to go to school.

School

I walked into my first period class which was APUSH. This is honestly my favorite class. The teacher is extremely relaxed and makes the lessons fun to learn.

"Alright class! We are taking a field trip to go to Hamilton!" I froze. I couldn't see Lin again or the whole cast. Taking the paper from the teacher, I noticed that the trip was free, and parents didn't have to agree.

I stood up from my seat grabbing my belongings running out to the classroom to the bathroom. I slammed the door shut locking it pulling out my now cracked phone thanks to Eric, and pulled up a conversation with Lin.

Maddie : I will be seeing you very soon.

I took a deep breath hitting the send button locking my phone, sliding down the bathroom walls grabbing my knees.

THIRD PERSON

Maddie couldn't calm down from everything that was going on. She stayed in the bathroom until 5th period, knowing she was gonna get the lecture from Eric and Karen about skipping.

On the other hand, Lin hasn't been having a good 6 months at all. He's been stressed from losing Maddie due to the hate she's been getting.

Lin hasn't performed a show in weeks. The whole cast is completely worried about him.

"Lin. Let's go out to lunch." Leslie asked standing at the doorway.
"I'm okay." Lin responded.
"No. You're coming." Leslie demanded.

Lin got up having his hand go through his hair taking a deep breath.

He grabbed his phone from the table, walking over to the rest of the cast waiting to leave. Suddenly, Lin phone went off with the sound of Maddie text ringtone.

"I will be seeing you very soon." Lin read slowly. He was shocked, questioning the text in every way.

"You okay man?" Daveed ask, putting his arm around Lin.

"Maddie. She texted me.." Lin said, forming tears in his eyes.

The whole cast stopped in their tracks, looking at Lins phone studying the text questioning it as well.

Lin took a deep breath, hitting the text box typing a message.

Lin : "When?"

Tears finally escaped Lins eyes knowing that he will be seeing his daughter very soon.
