"Astrid...please, talk to me. Tell me what's wrong...I'm begging you, please," Hiccup pleaded as he looked at the blonde girl he loved so much.
She was weak.
He had to hold her up by supporting her, his hands holding her arms tightly. If he wouldn't, she would loose her balance and fall.
"I'm okay," Astrid murmured tiredly, her head droopy. "You're not okay, Astrid! Tell me what's wrong!"
They were in the Club House. Astrid had gotten on her usual early morning flight, a little more tired than usual but she still went, knowing nothing would happen.
Halfway through her flight, she almost lost her balance and fell off of Stormfly. Luckily, the Nadder noticed and landed immediately, letting Astrid slid down to the ground and then flying off to get Hiccup.
Once Hiccup had arrived, he just picked her up, - obviously concerned - and then he flew back with her in his arms and Stormfly trailing after him and Toothless.
"I'm just a little tired," Astrid said and looked at him, her eyes red, her cheeks puffy and her lips, plump.
Like she had been crying.
Hiccup sighed and looked back at the others watching carefully. He gazed back to Astrid before saying, "I'm gonna make sure she's okay. I'll be back in a bit. Rest. Don't blow up anything."
Ruffnut and Tuffnut grunted but nodded. Everyone headed off to their own huts. Hiccup looked back at Astrid and slid his arm under her legs and back, picking her up.
"Hiccup..." Astrid whispered, her hands sliding up his chest to wrap around his neck. He looked down at her. "Yeah?" He asked, gazing into her eyes.
"I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry for? You did nothing wrong."
"I'm sorry for being such a burden."
Hiccup stopped in his tracks. "Burden? You? Oh, please. You're anything but a burden," He said and smiled, looking forward. Toothless was trailing after them slowly and Hiccup turned towards him. "Mind flying me up to Astrid's house?"
The dragon smiled and trotted over to him, lowering himself for Hiccup to be able to get on better with Astrid in his arms.
The auburned hair boy put his leg in the stirrup and they lifted. The flight only lasted a fee moments and soon, they landed in front of Astrid's heavily armored hut.
She herself designed it so, if Dragons Edge would ever be attacked and there wouldn't be enough dragons around, they would use the weapons in there.
"Thank you, Hiccup."
"It's nothing, Astrid. I'd gladly help anytime," Hiccup said softly and pushed open the door with his leg, walking in and straight upstairs to where her bedroom was.
He laid her down on the bed softly and the second her body left his, he missed it. He wanted to have her near him. Always.
To protect her and to be there for her. He wanted her to be his.
Forever.
He was just about to turn around and walk to the door when she grabbed his hand. He looked back at her. "Don't go. Please..."
He smiled and shook his head. "I'm not. I'm just gonna close the door," He said but Toothless bet him to it, closing the door with his tail and winking at him.
Hiccup laughed and turned back to the blonde, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
His hand was still in hers and he didn't mind. His thumb was stroking the back of her hand and she laid her hand on her chest, his hand in hers.
He felt her steady heart beat.
She wasn't nervous. She was comfortable with him being there and she was comfortable with all of him just...sitting there, perfect.
"Hiccup..."
"Hm?"
"I..." He felt her heart start to beat faster, increasing speed by the second. "Yes?" He asked, looking down at her. "Nevermind..."
"No, tell me. I know you want to."
Why was he always so right and...perfect? Oh my gods, why was it getting so hot in there?
They had no idea but, they ended up in a heated make out when they finally pulled away.
Turned out, Astrid was only like that because she hadn't slept well.
No harm done.
