(A/N: This is from the beginning of, "The Most Romantic Apology," going all the way to the end and then Hiccup asks her after the scene fades.)

Astrid felt something tug at her hand and she looked back, only to meet Hiccup's gaze. He didn't say anything, only pulled her out of the Club House and onto the ledge, turning towards her.

"Don't say anything, I was being silly," She said with a small smile on her face. However, Hiccup wasn't. agreeing. "No, you weren't," He said, his eyes locked with hers and he made no signs of looking away anytime soon. "I should've noticed that necklace right away but, its not about that."

Hiccup paused for a moment and inhaled softly. "I've been taking you for granted," He said, his voice full of pain. Astrid watched him as he looked away, his eyes staring at something on the ground as he spoke. She wanted to say that he hadn't but as if he had read her mind, he interrupted her by saying, "I have and I realized that today."

A smile made its way onto her lips and she looked at him, observing the emotions displayed on his face as he spoke to her. His eyes met hers again and he held it as he spoke.

"I couldn't have done any of this without you, Astrid. Not the Dragon Riders or the Edge. You've always been there for me and I want to always be there for you," Hiccup said softly, looking down as he grabbed the pendant from his pocket and pulled it out, holding it in his hand in front of her. "I love you, Astrid Hofferson. With everything I have and I always will."

Just as Hiccup had been waiting for the perfect moment to kiss her, he had been waiting for the perfect moment to say that he loved her and Astrid had waited for him to do it. Sure, he might've not been the most traditional Viking in the Archipelago but he stuck to being the one to do things first when it came to relationships.

Hearing those words from him had made her realize that they'd never said those words before and she was scared of saying it now. She also didn't want to say it back right now because she didn't want it to sound like a response to him. She wanted it to be heartfelt and sincere and she thought that by saying, "I love you too," it wouldn't sound like that.

A deep, crimson blush smeared itself across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose and she smiled, looking at him. "I know you do," She said, her voice kind and soft. She stepped forward and grabbed his hands that were holding the necklace. She lifted them and threw the chain over her head, letting the pendant hang from her neck.

"We don't have to be like them," She said and paused for a second, - she was referring to Mala and Dagur that were getting a big lovey before. "I mean, we have a different kind of-mppth?" She said but Hiccup interrupted her.

His move was swift and it caught her off for a few seconds.

Hiccup placed his left hand on her cheek as he leaned in swiftly, pressing his lips against hers with quite some force. Astrid quickly recovered from the surprise kiss and moved her hand from his chest, up his neck to rest on his cheek. She broke the kiss, lips still pressed against his as they turned their heads before resuming the kiss.

His tongue met hers once and his whole body tingled due to the contact.

Slowly pulling away, Astrid found her hand on his waist and cheek and she smiled at him, gazing into those emerald green eyes of his that were so beautifully lit up by the sunset beside them.

"Um..." Fishlegs voice broke them out of their trans and they turned towards them. "Oh my," Was the only thing Mala could say before a small blush played itself over her cheeks as she turned to look at Dagur who was nodding in approval.

"Okay...come on, Meatlug. Lets go and, um...make some Gronkel Iron for the Armorwing," Fishlegs said as they disappeared.

Hiccup chuckled for a moment before looking at the blonde girl, - young woman - he loved so much. Pulling her hand towards him, he wrapped his left arm around her waist and let her rest her head on his shoulder.

Watching the sunset together was relaxing.

Hiccup's steady breath reminded her of the everyday dangers they'd survived. He should've been dead on multiple occasions but he had pulled through and made it, - something she was more than thankful for.

He still had so much to live for, - considering he was only nineteen years old but also betrothed to her - and she was happy that the situations he'd been in was only in her memory and not as present day.

Astrid turned her head slowly and she looked up at her boyfriend, - fiancé - observing him. Hiccup looked down at her but didn't turn his head because he didn't want to disturb her comfortable position on his shoulder.

Astrid smiled and him and lifted her head, walking to the spot in front of him and wrapping her other arm around his neck, snuggling her face into the alcove between his shoulder and neck.

Hiccup smiled, his arms secure around her back and waist, his chin laying on her shoulder so he could kiss the side of her head if he wanted to.

However, a thought crossed his mind and he pulled his head back. "Astrid?" He asked and waited for her reply. "Yes?" She asked and pulled her head back, looking at him. Hiccup pulled his right hand away from her back and used it to brush her bangs away from her eye, uncovering her beautiful ocean blue eyes.

"Do you love me?" He asked and looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed slightly, as if he was concerned. Astrid's eyes widened. "Of course I love you. Why are you even asking me such a question?" She asked, slightly bewildered by the question.

He shrugged softly. "I don't know. I guess, I just said that I loved you and I didn't heart it back mad eye question if you loved me or not."

Astrid exhaled slowly before breathing in. "Well..." Astrid started before leaning in and pressing her lips against the corner of his mouth. She pulled back and looked at him. "I love you, Hiccup Haddock," She said with a bright smile and held their gaze.

Hiccup chuckled and leaned down. "I love you too," He said. hearing him say that made her realize that she shouldn't be afraid of saying something and fearing that it might've been the wrong time for it.

She loved him and he loved her and that was all that mattered in that moment.
