Hiccup was stupid. He was smart. He was generous. He was caring. He was full of ideas. He had a great heart. He wanted the best for the ones he loved. And...he was Hiccup.
And that's what Astrid was afraid of. His inventions had gone a little to far and he had built himself a flight suit.
So, before Astrid could protest anything about the idea, the man stood on the edge of the cliff, ready to jump down.
Toothless wined at the idea and Astrid bit her lip. She wanted to say something. Something only he'd said once.
And that was when she needed to sail to outcast island, dressed as Heather.
But, before she could say anything, the man jumped off the cliff.
He fell.
However, when he opened the "wings," he flew. He soared right over the water. A few mere feet above.
"It works! It actually works! I can't believe that it work-" But before he could continue, he noticed that he was heading towards a cliff.
"Toothless!" He shouted. The Night fury roared and went towards his rider. However, before he reached his rider, the man crashed against the cliff. "Hiccup!!" Astrid shouted.
"No!!"
•••
Astrid cried. She sat in Hiccup's hut, on the edge of his bed, stroking his cheek. "Hiccup, why did you have to do it? Your so stupid...but, I still love you..." The last sentence came out as a whisper.
She was sad. She was just sad with tons of more sadness on top of it. The thing she wanted the most was to Hiccup to just sit up in bed and looking like nothing had happened. But, it wasn't like that.
He had scorch marks from scraping his face against the rocks. His right arm was in bandages because he cut himself with a rock and his right knee was also pretty scraped up.
Since he had tried to fly to the right, he had scraped up that side of his body pretty badly.
"Hiccup..." Astrid whispered. She moved her hand from his cheek to his lower lip and stroke it. "Please, wake up..." She begged.
Just as she was going to lean her forehead against his, he stirred.
"Hiccup?"
The man's eyes opened slowly but closed because of the light. Sure, the door was closed to his hut and only a candle was on fire but after being "asleep" for a few days, it had effected his sight.
"A-Astrid?" Hiccup shuttered, wanting to sit up but he was slowly pushed down again. "You need to lay down, okay?"
"What happened?"
Astrid hesitated. "You jumped down the cliff, trying to fly but you couldn't steer away in time and you crashed into the rocks..." She said, in ally leaning her forehead against his.
Hiccup closed his eyes and smiled. The side of his nose brushed against Astrid's and she smiled, caressing his non-hurt cheek.
Suddenly, not caring that his arm hurt as hell, he pulled her against him. Astrid pulled away and laid down beside him, laying her head on his chest.
"Astrid...I've been wanting to tell you something for a really long time..."
"What is it, Hiccup?" She asked, raising her head I look at him.
"I like you, really muc-"
"But I don't. I love you, Hiccup..."
The man's eyes widened and he looked down at his crush. We smiled before settling back down and placing his non-hurt arm around the woman's waist, stroking it.
"I love you to, Astrid. I just didn't know how you would react...I'm sorr-" she interrupted him again by getting up from her place, leaning over him and pressing her lips against his.
"Shut up and kiss me back!" Astrid mumbled against his lips.
That was the best wake up greeting he'd ever got so far...
(A/N: Guys, I'm really sorry that I haven't updated on this book. I really am. I just had other things like P.E. Today, me, my class and every 8th grader in school had to run a track that was about 2.3 km, four times. It's insane. But, I did it. However, I almost crawled into the finish at the last round. Anyway, so, I will update. Just give me a Race to the Edge related prompt and I'll see what I can do.Please, no Heather/Hiccstrid drama. I cannot do those.)
