Chapter 42 - You Do not Know Me Helena / August 1974

POV Helena

Sunday, August 18.

After a busy day, when I recorded a show and still had a photo shoot, I went to visit Bri at the hospital in the evening. I parked my car in the hospital parking lot. Clotilde and I got out of the car and went into the hospital. It was seven in the evening. I greeted the doctor. Bri had finished dinner. He announced me to Bri and he welcomed me cheerfully.

"Helena, you really came!" Said Bri, smiling.

I smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

"Of course I came, my angel. I've had a busy day, but I'm here. I want to see how the day went by. "I smiled at him and sat down in a chair.

Bri started to talk to me about how his day was and I was mine.

"Yesterday after you left, the boys came to visit me and they came this morning too," Bri said, smiling. "They told me to be unconcerned because I will not be replaced.

I remembered Roger's words I heard yesterday in the hospital hallway.

"So you told them to write some lyrics while you're here?" - I asked.

"Yes, I said I'll write the lyrics and they will." Bri smiled. "They said they were just annoyed with some comments.

"What comments?" - I asked.

"Yesterday before they came here, Rog commented to me that one of Trident's employees commented to him if I should not be replaced. Even when you left the room and found them in the hallway, you overheard Rog commenting this to Freddie and John and thought that it was he who had given the idea. Brian said looking at me.

"Wait, did Rog tell you what he said to him?" I asked in astonishment.

"Yes, and he is very upset with you, because you suspected him, that he could do this to me, replace me," Bri said thoughtfully. "Helena, please do not ruin your friendship with Rog because of me.

"Bri, if I told those things to him, it was because I thought he said that, that he was urging Freddie and John to choose another guitarist," he said with tears in his eyes. "I was unfair to Rog.

"Very unjust, Helena," Bri said, annoyed. "Never Rog would do that to me. Rog and I can have our differences, discuss the rehearsals and recordings of the band, but we're friends, we're really like brothers. Please, Helena, be careful with the things you say.

"Bri, I swear I'm very sorry," she said sheepishly. "I want to even apologize for saying all this to your friend.

"You are forgiven, my angel, I know you are sorry, but you must ask forgiveness of Rog. He is very disappointed in you for having doubted his character in relation to our friendship, "Bri said.

"You're right, Bri. I have to ask his forgiveness. All that remains to be seen is whether he will accept my pardon, "she said in annoyance.

"I do not know, Helena, I do not know that," Bri said thoughtfully.

Bri and I talked a lot until the final time of the visit arrived.

"I'll come again tomorrow to visit you my angel, tomorrow night, now, I'll go after Roger, I have to apologize to him," he said to Bri.

"And you do well, Helena, do it, good luck," Bri said, smiling.

I go out with Clotilde from the hospital and get in my car and head for the apartment Roger lives with Les in the Richmond neighborhood. Almost half an hour later, I arrive and park the car in front of the building and tell the doorman that I need to talk to Roger and I can change the number of the apartment.
