September

POV Roger

On the first of September, Monday, the boys and I got up at six thirty in the morning. Helena was already finishing her coffee. Clare, Sarah, Mary, Vanessa, Tim, Les and Louis were still asleep.

Helena was in the kitchen unmolding a heart of palm pie she had prepared recently. When she saw us, she smiled. Freddie, Bri, Deacy and I kissed her cheek.

"Good morning, boys, sit down, coffee is ready. She smiled at us, putting the pie on the table.

She had made coffee and tea, there was still cold milk, bread, melted cheese, guava jelly, dulce de leche, palmito pie, and pineapple juice with mint.

"Sit down with us for breakfast, dear Helena," Freddie said, taking a cup of tea.

"Thank you, but I'd rather leave them alone for coffee and talk," she said, smiling.

I pulled her by the arm and she fell into my lap. We looked at each other and smiled.

"We want your company," I said, smiling at her. "Sit down, please, have coffee with us."

"All right," she said, smiling, sitting down next to Freddie.

"Breakfast is very tasty," said Freddie, smiling. "Thank you for taking such good care of us, dear Helena.

"I do it with the greatest joy," she said, smiling. "After I have breakfast with you, I'm going to get some sleep before I cook lunch."

"What are you doing in the afternoon?" I asked her.

"The girls and I intend to go horseback riding," she said, eating a slice of cheese. "I also have to continue painting my paintings. When I get back to London, I'll have to take the four pictures to the art gallery, to sell.

"Your paintings have been very successful, my friend," John said, smiling.

"Even today you will have a surprise," she smiled. "When you come to lunch, you will see.

"Now you're curious, Helena," Bri said, smiling.

"Hold your curiosity, Bri." She smiled at us.

The boys and I had breakfast with Helena and around seven-thirty in the morning we headed to Rockfield Studios, a large studio, which sits in a large barn at Ridge Farm. We hook up our instruments in the big barn. We will finally start recording our fourth album, still unnamed. John Reid said to give us the best and make the best album possible. EMI is spending millions on the band's new album. If the next album is not a success, we'll be bankrupt and we'll owe a large sum to Trident and EMI. Jim Beach, the lawyer, was able to break Queen's contract with Trident Studios, but if the band were successful for the next few years, Trident will be entitled to 1% royalties from the band's next six albums. The boys and I did not like the idea, but it was the best way Jim Beach found of getting rid of Trident, finally and we agreed. The boys and I are going to record our album for a month at Rockfield Studios and then we will finish the album at the studios in London. At Rockfield Studios we will record from Monday to Friday from eight in the morning to six in the afternoon and on Saturdays from eight in the morning until noon and we will have Sunday to rest and to know the dependences of the great farm. The girls who will enjoy much more time, knowing the great farm. We arrived at the studio and began recording the song that Freddie wrote called Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon. It is a simpler song and I believe that in three days we will record the instrumental and Freddie the vocal.

POV Helena

After the boys finished their breakfast and headed for Rockfield Studios, I went to the room I'm sharing with Clare for some more sleep, and I fell asleep quickly. I got up around ten in the morning. Heard the noise from the kitchen. The girls had finished their coffee. I greeted them. Clare and Mary went to wash the boys' clothes and our clothes too and then pass. Vanessa and Sarah went to clean the house. As for Tim, Les, and Louis, they went to the housekeepers' house, so I asked them to see if there were any vegetable gardens around here, so I could get some mint leaves to make some juice later, and I started preparing lunch. The day is sunny. A short time later, the boys said that the homemade Jack said I can get some mint leaves from his garden later. I thanked the boys. Tim, Les, and Louis said they were going to get to know the farm a little and left the house. I made Brazilian food, more homemade, rice, mashed potatoes and roasted panela meat. As Bri does not eat meat, I made stuffed potatoes and prepared lettuce salad with heart of palm and other things. By about one o'clock the lunch was ready. The boys are coming in for lunch. Clare entered the kitchen and said,
