Arthur made his way into the main road. He saw a passerby and smiled, then attempted to speak in Russian/Varangian to him, “Где ГОО компаунд?”

The passerby pulled a face and quickly scurried by.

Arthur played the translation to himself again and tried to memorise it correctly. He encountered another passerby but spoke too quickly. The second passerby ran away even more rapidly than the first. “This is dashed harder than I thought it was going to be. I think I will just let the phone do the talking for me." He spoke into the phone, "Where is the CGB compound?"

The phone translated it, "Где ГОО компаунд?" Arthur saw another woman in the street and walked up to her and played the message to her.

The woman spoke to him in Varangian, "Hang on a minute," said Arthur as he changed the phone to translate varangian into English then held it back up to the woman.

She spoke into the phone.

“I am a CGB officer and you are under arrest,” re-translated the phone.

“Ooer,” exclaimed Arthur as she pulled a pistol on him.

“An m45, very nice,” complimented Arthur as he raised his hands and was led away to the CGB compound. “Well at least I have found the compound,” said Arthur as two guards saluted the female agent with her prisoner.

“Is that it?” asked Biggs as he followed Arthur’s adventure on his hand held PC.

“No, not yet,” said the Author. “It’s only chapter three. Sid can do a mini rescue as he’s there already.”

“Hah,” grumped Biggs, “you’d better let me have a bigger part in this story as I am supposed to be second in charge.”

“You can rescue him when he gets to the...”

“The what?”

“I don’t want to reveal it to the readers yet.”

“Well just tell me and censor the sentence afterwards like you did in the last book.”

“Well I was discussing it on the Amazon discussion groups and they suggested that [censored by the Author].”

“Oh, that’s pretty exciting. I don’t feel too bad now. I might go and do a bit of training, to make sure I’m fit for the rescue and also give me a bit of appetite for my tea.”
