“Well have you got any one liners like Bond?”

“Without your long johns, over Finland, you were shaken not stirred.” Sid and Arthur looked at each other then Croploft tried to get back to the story, “I suggest you take an M1 tracking device, pre-programmed with Fiona’s position, two phasic devices so that you can turn yourself invisible…”

Sid interjected, “From what the Author said it looks like we’re going to use those.”

“… a beacon in case you fail and have to let us know and rations for a week,” finished Croploft.

“That is very sensible Croploft,” encouraged Carstairs.

“Can I have a stun pistol?” asked Arthur, “I am only licensed to make people laugh, so I cannot kill anyone.”

“Alright then,” Carstairs walked over to one of the benches and started collecting together the things Croploft had suggested, “Tracking device, two phasic devices…”

“How do we use these?” asked Arthur.

Carstairs showed them, “Click and twist.”

“Sounds like a new dance based on 60’s music and crickets,” thought Sid.

Retrieving a beacon and some rations from a cupboard Carstairs plonked them on the bench.

“And a stun pistol?” said Arthur.

“Haven’t you got the one you used in ‘The Detective One’?” questioned Carstairs.

“I have left it at home in the plant pot.”

Giving Arthur his own stun pistol he said, “I want that back, it’s the only one we’ve got and somebody gave it to me as a present from the sci-fi dimension.”

“Illegal?”

“No, someone in the IPP.”

“Right this is getting stupid and bogged down,” said the Author, “get your stuff and set off to the island before you bore me to sleep.”

The four of them looked at each other then filed out of the cellar. Sid and Arthur took off from a secluded smaller garden near Government House.
