CHAPTER FIVE

Across the courtyard and down the steps ran the CGB guards. At the same time Sid hovered up the stairs. The guards landed on him. He adjusted his thrusters and pushed them all up the stairs again and out on to the floor where they landed in a big pile. Some guards who had only got half way across the courtyard shot at the battle suited dwarf. Some of the shots ricocheted off his body armour and hit the sprawled guards on the floor.

“Stop firing,” shouted one of the sprawled guards, “the bullets are ricochetting.”

“You said that wrong laddie,” corrected Sid, “it sounds a bit like the Irish comeback artist.”

“What?” queried the guard.

“Rick O’shea?”

The guard did not understand.

Sid hovered towards the shooting guards and laid each of them out. “All in a days work for a superhero/spy helper.”

Seeing that they had a battlesuited dwarf as an opponent some other guards got an RPG from the stores.

“Was that a Role Playing Game Author?”

“No Sid, it’s a Rocket Propelled Grenade.”

“Oooh,” exclaimed Sid as the RPG headed towards him. He held up his hand and let out a burst of energy from his gauntlet. The grenade exploded 10 feet before it got to him. “I’m liking this,” grinned Sid, “some action at last.”
