Luke lay back on the couch - he didn't even try the front door. It was unlocked. Ashton's words had been enough to make him think twice about even attempting to leave. He didn't even hate Ashton. Well... He did, but he knew that he couldn't show it. It would probably put him in danger.
Luke lay on his side and closed his eyes, trying to reflect on the day. The hunger was making it difficult for him to even order his thoughts at this point. It wasn't as if he was starving to death, he wasn't even close. But the discomfort was really enough to hinder his train of thought.
After this, Luke gave up and closed his eyes. If he could fall asleep, this would all go away for a few hours.
It didn't take Luke long to drift off, and he slept fairly well, considering.
So long as tomorrow was better...
