Ashton moved past Luke slowly and the blonde boy followed after him, closing the door behind them.
"I'm not getting you arrested." Luke said firmly, causing Ashton to shake his head.
"You don't have to, just persuade them that you're in danger... Please Luke..." Ashton had no other way of trying to get across the best thing for Luke.
"No. I'm not,"
"Luke, why don't you fucking understand? You and me, we're done! It's not safe for you to be around me, you'll be tracked down too easily."
Luke stood in a stunned silence as Ashton turned away and headed to the car. He hadn't meant to snap like that, but he knew he couldn't hold on to Luke. It had been for work... Nothing more... He had to cut the ties now.
Luke didn't make a move towards Ashton, hurt. But he had expected it.
He watched silently as Ashton started the car and pulled away. Everything had ended so abruptly between them...
So Luke crossed the street.
Thirty minutes later, he was sat in the police station, having a tearful reunion with his parents.
He wasn't the one in tears.
He didn't want to be there.
