Utau POV

Shin is not in most of Utau's classes anymore due to his power. However his little friend is. At first Utau worried about Kami being able to keep up with the rest of the class. After all he had been asleep for two months and he has fallen way behind, and it is unlikely the teachers will show him the mercy of letting him spend a few days catching up to the class. She might not like him but he's still a kid and she doesn't want him to be punished just for not knowing what the rest of the class knows.

Utau takes her seat in her first class and Kami sits down two desk to her right. She had forgotten how close their designations were. So that's why that desk has been empty ever since the beginning of the year. She thinks as Kami settles in. He lays he head down using his arms as cushions and puts his notebook over his head like a tent to block out the light.

The whole room falls silent as Mr. Volkov the math teacher walks in. He's strict but at least he doesn't yell like Ms. Sasaki does. As long as you pass your tests, quizzes and do your homework he will let you doodle in your notebook. He stands in the front of the room and scans the rows to make sure everyone is here. He pauses when he sees Kami at his desk. He looks at his clipboard. "You must 003 Kami." He says with a Russian accent.

Kami's head pops up. "You speak Russian?" He asks enthusiastically. "So cool! I wanna learn Russian to!"

Mr. Volkov stares at Kami stone faced. "Sit down. This is not a language class. This is math class. Take notes. You're already behind." He states turning to the board and turns it on.

Kami lays his chin on his desk and pouts. As Mr. Volkov start the lesson we all begin taking notes. Half way through class Utau peeks over at Kami to see what he's doing. He's still pouting and his notebook is still on his head. He is fiddling with his pen with a bored expression. Clearly he hasn't taken a single note.

Utau wasn't the only one that had noticed Kami was slacking. Mr. Volkov gives Kami an irritated look. "Since Kami doesn't seem to feel the need to take notes with the rest of the class he can answer this question on the board." He says holding the projector pen up to Kami.

Kami stops playing with his pen and looks up at the teacher  less than amused. He ignores the pen and looks at the board. 8+3x4/6

Utau feels bad for Kami. She had only just started learning this stuff when she was in school. Even then it hadn't been anything this complicated.

"Fourteen." He says and looks back down at his pen.

"Write it on the board." Mr. Volkov says.

Kami sighs and takes the pen. Every move he makes is exaggerated. "You're not my mom!" He groans and walks to the front of the class. He writes a great big fourteen on the board. He thrusts the pen back into Mr. Volkov's hands but he gives it back.

"Show me how you got your answer." He states. Being a drama queen Kami writes some sloppy looking numbers and goes back to his seat. Mr. Volkov looks over his work and nods. "So you were paying attention."

"Duh." Kami sasses him.

The next class was a disaster. Ms. Sasaki told him her rules and he flat out told her she was a bitch. He then proceeded to sleep through her class. When she got mad she would hit him with her ruler. When he got sick of it he broke it into four pieces. For the next twenty minutes he was awake he spent it arguing with her about quantum mechanics. Most of the class was amazed by his audacity to actually get in a screaming match with the teacher.

He chilled out and seemed to enjoy his foreign language classes. He quickly picked up on the vocab words. He excelled greatly in German. Not surprising considering his roommate is German. He probably wants to be able to understand him. At lunch he sat with his roommate and coerced him into teaching him the German sentence structure.

Then came combat class. Maybe the strict atmosphere would beat some of his unruliness out of him. Surprisingly he seemed excited about this class as well. He got yelled at two times for bouncing around like he was on a Pogo stick. It's completely inconceivable why he has so much energy. The only class he ran into a brick wall was power training class. He couldn't activate his Curse so he was sent to a power discovery class. Finally. A class Utau didn't have with him.

At supper she sat with Shin. She plops down feeling exhausted. He looks at her questioningly. "Is something wrong?"

"Kami started classes today." She states.

"Ahh," he says like he completely understands, "Did he do something to make you angry again?"

"No but his teachers hate him. He actually got in a screaming match with Ms. Sasaki." She tells him and he snickers. "I thought he would need help getting caught up to the curriculum but looks like I was wrong. He's learned a lot in one day."

"Yeah, He is like that. How is he doing in math? He told me he was struggling with multiplication." Shin asks.

"Well apparently not. He showed up the math teacher in front of the whole class." She replies. "His attitude is all over the place. One moment he's bouncy and excited. The next he'll dig in his heels and throw a tantrum." She sighs.

"Maybe he is trying to be a class clown. Maybe after a few days he will chill out." He tries to reassure her.

"Hopefully." She sighs and looks over to see Kami pestering Kiri again. "I feel bad for his roommate. He hasn't let Kiri have a moment's peace since they met."

Shin looks over as well. "He is probably just curious. If Kiri complains we can tell Kami to back off." Kiri looks a little daunted by Kami's energy but he is smiling. He must be having at least a little fun in order to smile so genuinely.

"I have a feeling Kami is going to be a huge pain in my side." Utau complains to Shin.
