Utau POV
The next morning after her morning routine Utau heads straight to the isolation rooms on floor four. She grabs her shake on the way and gulps it down quickly and throws the cup away before she even leaves the cafeteria. As usual when she eats her breakfast too fast she feels a little nauseous but she ignores it and heads straight for the elevators. As the elevator takes her to the right floor she begins to feel a little nervous.
I should probably think of what to say. A simple apology probably isn't going to cut it. She thinks. She starts imagining scenarios in her head of what Kami might say and what she should say. Kami will probably tell her to go away again. Then she will have to insist she needs to stay and apologize. He will probably get angry at her then and demand she go away. Then she will have to stay and say she's sorry until he accepts it o she has no choice but to leave.
She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly before stepping off the elevator and making her way down to the isolation ward. When she gets there she asks the guard to open the door and he does. She feels her heart pounding nervously when she pushes the door open and walks into the room.
Kami is sitting on the bed reading a new book this time. He doesn't react when she enters the room at all. "Hello, Kami." She waves nervously. He continues to ignore her completely. She can't tell if this is going better or worse than she imagined yet. "I wanted to say something to you." She says. She watches him for any sign he knows she's there. He doesn't say anything or move. The only movement she can see is his eyes scanning the page of his book. "Do you want to find a good place to stop reading so we can talk?" She asks starting to feel a little annoyed. She stands still and waits. It feels like several minutes have gone by when he flips the page and continues reading. The sound of the page turning in the quiet room makes her jump. This is not going how she thought it would.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for making the experiments worse. I was trying to help and I made it harder on you. I'm sorry." She says.
Kami doesn't move and she's about to keep on trying when he speaks. "It's fine." He says without looking at her. He's still reading a if he hadn't said anything.
"It's not fine. I really am sorry. I promise I won't interfere somewhere where you don't want me to anymore. Well, as long as it doesn't involve anyone else." She says.
"It's fine." He says again dismissively.
Before she can keep insisting it's not fine and try to be more apologetic the door opens and the guard pops his head in. "The bell for first period went off. Scram." He snaps at her.
She lets out and exasperated sigh and leaves. She takes the stairs to her first class since the elevators are busy transporting everyone else. In the stairwell she meets up with Shin. He stops and waits for her when he sees her. She easily falls into step beside him but doesn't say anything. Instead she stews in her irritation that Kami has dismissed her without even so much a looking at her.
"Did you go see Kami?" Shin asks.
"I did and he was a jerk. I tried to apologize and all he said was 'it's fine' like he didn't care. It was like he was completely ignoring me." She complains to him.
Shin laughs, "He is kind of like that. If he says it is fine than it is. He has forgiven you." He assures her.
"It didn't sound fine. He wouldn't even look at me." She tells him angrily.
"He is not just mad at you. He is over being mad at you but there are still plenty of people for him to hold a grudge against. At least you came and apologized. Sammael and everyone else involved will not ever apologize. But he has dropped his grudge against you." Shin explains to her.
