Utau POV

Utau was pleased when she heard that Kiri had gained permission to go visit Kami whenever he wanted. He would slip out during free time everyday to go and see him. In nearly two months he hadn't missed even a single day. Now Utau is feeling curious about whether Kami is making any progress.

Kiri shows up long enough to free time to tell the supervisor where he's going. Before he can leave Utau taps his shoulder and falls into step beside him. "How is Kami doing?" She asks the younger boy.

Kiri smiles brightly, "He's doing better. I'm bringing him some books to read." He tells her holding up a couple books. Utau notes that they're in the language her class is currently learning.

"Is he talking again?" She asks.

He nods, "He doesn't like talking to the doctors though. They make him nervous." He tells her.

"So he's going to make a full recovery then?" Utau asks feeling relieved.

"Something like that." Kiri's face looks troubled. "Sometimes he just snaps and the doctors can't calm him down. Sedatives don't work and they have to just lock the door and leave him there until he exhausts himself." He tells her.

"What causes it?" Utau asks feeling a knot of apprehention appear in her stomach.

"There's a few things. The two worst ones are doctors wearing white coats with surgical masks and being tied down. If he's tied down he will pull at the restraints until they snap or his arms break. He also gets scared if he sees blood or hears screaming." He explains to her.

"Are they trying anything to help?" Utau questions.

Kiri nods, "They have him taking medicine to stabilize his mood. There's certain ones he has to take if he starts to have an episode and he can't calm himself down. That one is supposed to put him to sleep in just a few minutes." They walk off the elevator and start walking down the hallway to the isolation block. Kiri smiles faintly, "You're going to be the first person to see him from class."

She tries to return his smile. "Do you think they will ever let him go?" Utau asks.

"They're trying to get the medication right. Then they will let him start attending classes again." He answers her. When they reach room 846 Kiri types in a number code and opens the door. "Kami! Utau's here to visit you." He announces cheerfully.

Utau steps into the tiny isolation cell to find it looks a little more inviting. There's a small stand by the bed that has a few books on it. Kami isn't dressed in white hospital clothes anymore and is wearing his black Curse Carrier uniform. As usual it washes out his skin making him look almost transparent. He's not wearing shoes or socks and is sitting on his bed with his back against the wall reading. The book he's reading is a decent sized chapter book in the langauge she had just started learning a couple weeks ago in class. She takes a moment to be impressed he's already picked up on it enough to read a book in it.

He looks up when Kiri skips in front of him, "Here's some more books. Dr. Blackmoore found them in a library book sale." He holds the books out to Kami and he sets aside the book he's reading to take them.

He smiles happily at Kiri, "Thanks." His voice sounds happy but softer than Utau remembers. Utau shifts feeling a little bit like she's intruding on something. She decides to wave to alert Kami to her presence since he hasn't looked at her yet. Just as she's raising her hand though Kami speaks to her without looking at her. "I know you're there." He says with an icy tone. He glances at her from the corner of his eye, "What do you want?"

Utau lets her hand drop back to her side and suprresses a spark of irritation. She came to see how he was doing, not to get in a fight with him. "I'm here to see how you're doing. You haven't been around for awhile." She tells him.
