*~ABBADON'S POV~*
"Pay? To kill me? That's ridiculous."I had the mercenary handcuffed to a table, fully disarmed of all her weapons and hidden armor. We both were inside my office, an impromptu interrogation room. Though carefully and meticulously decorated with books of science, magic, and classic literature, it was a prison for Mika. I could tell by the look on her face that she just wanted to go back to her lavish manor she had earned by slaying others. It was funny seeing her in here after she had nearly killed me.
She would've gotten away with it to, if she didn't try to rob me first.
"That's the whole truth. Now let me go, I have places to be." Mika said bluntly. I laughed, sitting down in front of her. She glared at me, a low growl sounding underneath her breath.
"What's so special about this one specific human anyway?" I asked, kicking my legs up on the table. "You've been hanging around her recently, haven't you?"
"Yeah, so what? I infiltrated the place as a source of profit. There's an occult club, and I'm just waiting to cash in on some souls." She said, scoffing. "The girl's got a nice personality, but besides that I don't see what the big deal is here." I smirked, rubbing my chin.
"Perhaps I should go see for myself. It's not like you would give her such a flattering description in the first place Mika, not without lessening your own ego." I told her, standing.
"It's not an ego if I can prove my worth." Mika spat. "Arran will see you. It'll be all downhill from there." I folded my arms. As a merc, she was taught to have a face as cold as stone.
But even stones had to crack sometime.
"I've never seen you so loyal to a person." I said, pacing back and forth. "What's the matter with that?"
"Family's dead. Was a sex slave. Killed my master. Learned how to kill others. El fin." She said calmly. "I'm loyal to whoever signs the check."
"What if I could offer you a place on the Satanic Guard?" I asked, smiling pleasantly. "You'd be the head in no time, and able to keep your missions."
"Asking me to sell out?" She asked. "That's low."
"You oppose?" I asked skeptically. She laughed, shaking her head and flipping a bang from her face.
"What do you take me for? An idiot?" Mika asked. "Of course I accept. You're the Demon King here. So what am I doing?"
"Guide me through the human world." I said. "Take me to the human girl. If Arran doesn't understand that these humans are just feeble indecisive little playthings, I'll teach him." The mercenary shrugged indifferently and I snapped my fingers, the handcuffs disappearing as she stretched her arms.
"I love these little chats we have my liege, I'll come back for my paycheck later." Mika said, stepping out the door.
*~READER'S POV~*
"Coming!"
Arran had promised to walk me to school today, and to be perfectly honest, I thought it was pretty cool of him. Normally I would just walk alone or ride my bike, but this was a nice change. I ran down the stairs and slung my bag over my shoulder, running to the door and opening it. Instead of Arran's smiling face, I saw another face, disguised under a red bandana over his lower face rather than Arran's mask. He wore a black hoodie and with his chest exposed, black jeans to match. I tensed, tempted to shut the door and run.
"You have no reason to be afraid. I won't hurt you. In fact, I'm here to be honest with you." The boy said. "Of course, if you're willing to listen."
"W-Who are you?" I asked, my hand gripping the front door tightly.
"A friend of Mika's." The boy said, bowing. "My name is Abbadon."
"A friend of hers is a friend of crime." I said, standing aside. "B-But...I guess you can come inside." He chuckled deeply, walking inside. I shut the door and folded my arms, watching him carefully. Just like Arran, there was something elegant about him.
"You have a wonderful home here (name). Very nice accent on the wallpapers, and the sconces are something I'd like to have." Abbadon said, observing the walls like a piece of art.
"U-Um...thanks?" I said, confused on how to respond. "Listen, Abbadon, right? You said you knew something about Arran. What is it?" He closed his eyes and snapped his fingers, the sound of locks clicking filling the house. I tensed at the sudden sound, seeing Abbadon shrug off his jacket and lower his bandana.
Wings.
Sharp teeth.
Horns from his head.
Tail from behind."Ahhh~" He sighed, stretching his wings. "That's much better. It's such a pain to keep them hidden. What a waste of magic it is." I stood in complete awe, eyeing the door as someplace to run. I thought about my phone in my pocket. Idiot! What was I thinking, letting him in? And he's one of Mika's friends! He's probably a gangbanger or something worse!
"Don't think so negatively about me (name), it's hurtful. Besides, being afraid of me is only the beginning."
I jumped. Did he...hear that?!
"Of course I did. You're an open book to me...and Arran, of course. Oh, and Mika." He said, smiling at me. "We're simply inhuman, wouldn't you agree?"
"Then what the hell are you?!" I shouted. He laughed, starting to walk closer to me. I tried to run, but my body was frozen into its place.
"Oh (name), where's the fun in that?" He asked playfully. "But I suppose I could tell you. Arran, well, he's not human either. You think him to be the perfect 19-year-old future student body president...well, what's the purpose in that when you're already a demon lord in hell?"
...
...what?"Don't look so surprised, I thought you would have that all figured out by now." Abbadon said, coming close enough to kiss me. "The mask, everyone likes him, the noble act he puts on...well, he is nobility. He just answers to me."
"And who are you?" I asked skeptically. "And...and who's Mika?!"
"I am one of four of Hell's demon kings. There's my brothers; Mephistopheles, Lucifer, Leviathan, and yours truly." Abbadon explained. "Mika...well, for now she's just a mercenary. Later, captain of the guard. Arran is a demon lord, one of two demons I have to maintain my land. However, it seems he's taken quite a liking to you (name). Now that we finally meet, I can see why." He chuckled darkly and I tried to scream, but the sound never emerged from my lips.
"Don't be so afraid (name), I'm not going to 'take you away' or sacrifice you. I'm not a savage. As of now, I'm just using you to send a message." Abbadon said. He disappeared for a moment, then I felt his muscular arms around my midsection. His tongue travelled my neck, making me shiver against his touch. He felt so cold, like death himself. Abbadon pulled me in closer to him, our bodies pressing together in a forceful embrace.
"Your skin is so warm and inviting." He mewled. "Normally I'd think of you humans as vile and disgusting creatures of a more vile earth, but you pique my interest (name)." Abbadon bit roughly into my neck, drawing blood and licking the wound. His hand slid down to my waist, undoing the button on my jeans and sliding them down along with my underwear, leaving me exposed to his hand. One hand kept me firmly pressed against him as the other snaked its way to my womanhood, one finger rubbing against it achingly slow. I let out a gasp, biting my lip shyly. I didn't want him to have the satisfaction of letting him win...
