No one was here...?
I opened the window, the sound of the rain echoing through my room. I could've sworn I heard rocks at the window. I heard a shuffling behind me, snapping my head around and feeling a chill go down my spine.
Again, nothing.
I shook my head and closed my window, laying back down and closing my eyes. I must be hearing things.
"Your hearing is fine. I just wanted to check on you."
I jumped up and looked around my room again.
"Up here."
I looked up and saw none other than the vampire crouching down on my ceiling, his blood red eyes boring into my (e/c) ones. He looked so calm, and it was that calm that freaked me out so much. How didn't I notice him come in past me? And how did he come in without me inviting him in?
"That's BS (Name). I don't have to be invited in. And I don't fucking sparkle like a fairy." Kyren said.
Right. He can hear my thoughts.
"Why are you here? Haven't you gotten enough to eat tonight?" I asked coldly. He rolled his eyes an jumped down to the floor without a sound.
"If Castiel is what you're going on about, I left him alive. I fed on a steak...extremely rare." He said. "Fresh from the butcher's. I think I frightened the poor thing when I took it right from the package and started eating it."
I blinked in disbelief. He had to have killed Castiel. I saw him with his fangs just above his neck!
"It would make my life a hell of a lot harder if I killed Castiel now." He said. "So I didn't. End of story." I paused for a moment as he sat on the edge of my bed, thinking to himself.
"So...um...can you actually turn into a bat?"
"I can control them."
"You don't like, turn to dust in the sunlight?"
"It makes me weaker and my powers are negated for a bit."
"Super speed?"
"Yeah."
"You hate werewolves?"
"Stop watching fucking Twilight."
"I-I don't! It's a common vampire stereotype!"
"You don't have like, a harem of vampire girls?"
"I hate people. That's why I was at that college campus alone."
"Do you sleep in a casket?"
"Hard to when you were never buried. I had a hammock I was kind of fond of."
(KYREN'S POV)
What's with all the questions? And I was here now. What was stopping me from what I came in here to do? I bet her blood tasted sweet, sweet as she was. I could be fang-deep in her right now.
"You're coming back to the college with me. It's too dangerous here." I told her, looking back at her. She glared at me.
"I'm not going back with you. You were going to kill my friends." She told me.
"If I really wanted to kill them, or Castiel, they would've been dead already." I said. "Believe me, I don't like killing people just to stay alive. I feel like an animal half the time...and not in the lewd way. But that's besides the point. I'm taking you back with me."
"You can't just demand it from me!" (Name) shouted. "You don't control me."
Not yet anyway.
I narrowed my eyes. She had gotten a little fight in her in my absence. Admirable, but I didn't have time for it.
"The cracks on my face. Do you know what they mean (Name)?" I asked her. She paused, her eyes focusing on them numbly.
"No." She said cautiously. "I thought they were a tattoo." I laughed coldly.
"No. They're my humanity." I told her. "Disappearing. I'm becoming more of a vampire every time I consume blood. I won't be able to resist human blood for long. I'll disappear, and I'll just be the monster, just like that backstabbing bitch that turned me into this..."
"You mean...you were human at some point?" (Name) asked.
"Of course. Hardly any vampires are born these days." I explained. "We stem from the true beast. Vlad the Impaler."
"Dracula..." She whispered. "So what does that have to do with me?" I stood up and looked into her (e/c) eyes again. A beautiful blend of fear and curiosity.
"There's a way I can delay the effects of my curse." I said. "That involves making you my blood bond. Where do you want me to bite?"
"H-Hold on a minute!" (Name) yelled. I rolled my eyes. All this talk was getting boring. At least I bothered to ask, why was she being such a prude?
"What is it now?" I asked, annoyed. "I'm not going to kill you, just create a blood bond by taking a little from you, that's all."
"Damn it Kyren, you can't just control me like this!" She shouted. I growled and snapped my fingers, her body freezing in place on her bed. She screamed and in an instant, my fangs were above her throat. I could hear her blood flowing in my ears, her heart pounding. I could taste it on my tongue. My senses were focused entirely on her blood.
"You'll see. You're the only one who can keep me as human as possible. That's why I can't let you out of my sight."
My fangs sunk into her throat and I felt her tense with the pain, the scream trapped inside of her throat. The blood flowed into my tongue, sweet crude life itself. I felt my cheek slowly piece itself together, like stitches pulling together fabric. I loved its taste, and once I had gotten my fill, I licked the would until it left a semi-healed scar. I looked up at her. Her eyes were closed and she was breathing evenly.
Sleeping.
I stroked her hair gently, picking up her sleeping form and opening her bedroom door, heading downstairs and heading to the front door. The pouring rain hadn't let up a bit, but it would be a suitable cover for my escape. I lingered on the porch for a moment, looking at her peaceful face once more before speeding back to my makeshift home in the middle of nowhere.
