*~READER'S POV~*

"Riker? Um...what's wrong?"

I sat next to him at Lunch, eating the bento he had made for me. It was really cute and all, but the death glare he was giving Mika really creeped me out. We were all outside, and she was leaning against a tree and talking to Stryker and Wade, undoubtedly something illegal. Wade occasionally made advances, but as expected, Mika flashed her homemade shiv and he backed off every time.

I hadn't seen Abbadon or Arran since...well, they shoved each other into a portal while trying to rip each other's throats out. Kyren...the thought of him freaked me out a little, but after running out like that a week ago, I hadn't seen him. Johnny...well, he always disappeared at random.

I'm being remarkably calm about this, especially considering the truth behind Mika's past, her being a mercenary. She wasn't human; then again, neither was Arran or Kyren, or even Riker.

I was just lucky he was off doing something for me.

"I don't like that Mika girl. Something isn't right about her." Riker said. "You should stop being friends soon."

"She's not human. So?" I asked. "She's still been a loyal friend to me. She doesn't seem like the type to betray me anyway."

"I bet she clubs baby seals." He muttered, folding his arms.

"Riker!" I shouted.

"Would you rather spend time with me or her?" He demanded. "Hmmmmm?" I rolled my eyes and turned back to my bento. He was being so needy. Riker leaned onto me, a soft purr coming from his throat.

"It's okay. I'll always love you anyway." He said sweetly. "You're the one for me, and no one else, so get used to it!"

*~RIKER'S POV~*

I meant that. She wasn't meant for anyone else, and definitely not Abbadon's underling. She was a manipulative bitch, and the idea of her just made me sick. I knew she was using (Name), and she was just too sweet to see that. From underneath my beanie, my ears honed in on the conversation Mika and her friends were holding.

"Damn Stryker, that's heavy. Your mom drunk herself to death, and your dad tried to kill you." Mika said, shaking her head. "If he's going to take your inheritance, he shoulda been more careful than that."

"Doesn't matter. Families are for suckers." Stryker said calmly. "I've got Wade."

"I thought we weren't making this bromance gayer than it is." Wade said. "We all know I'm not gay. Speaking of which, hey Mika, can a guy hear you moan past that mask of yours?"
