[AUTHOR'S NOTE]
Hey Guys! In my return chapter, I posted that I would be having a Yandere Boy Q&A. I wanted to point that out to you guys, because I know that some readers just kinda skim over those chapters to get to the actual story. Just make sure you tell me the boy you're asking and what you're asking. Okidoki, on with the story!
(READER'S POV)
"So that's your answer, huh?" Mika noted. "I guess that's the practical approach to it. Probably the best way to take it with Johnny. He's had it rough, I wouldn't be reckless with him."
"What do you mean?" I asked. "He's always been super quiet, and all of the girls at the school were head over heels for him." She scoffed, shaking her head.
"You humans and your vanity. Well, maybe not you so much, but a lot of them are. Johnny may look like some drop-dead gorgeous guy to you humans, but he's got a lot going on inside of him, something that even I pity." She said. "It's a wonder you haven't just accepted this guy, he's done a lot for you."
"Like inject me with some liquid?" I countered.
"It's not that simple, but I think I know his motivation behind it. That compound that he injected inside of you was identical to the one he had so many years ago." She explained. "He lives with a monster inside of him that Arran forced inside of him as an experiment. What's worse, I think that Johnny's soul is starting to merge with it. Should that happen, he's going to lose the entirety of his humanity and his mind...more so than now."
"So what's going to happen to me?" I demanded.
"Not much, if you relax. I can get you an antigen for the compound within 24 hours. You might have a few symptoms, but not many. They'll go away once your injection kicks in." She explained. "Meanwhile, take care of the kid, okay?" Her phone rang with some heavy rock ringtone and she sighed, fishing it out of her pocket.
"Yeah?" She said calmly.
"DON'T YOU 'YEAH' ME HAWTHORNE!! HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET FIRED FROM OUR BEST EMPLOYER YET?! I THOUGHT YOU SAID THAT YOU WERE GOING TO BE MORE CAREFUL!"
Mika held the phone away from her ear, rubbing it and muttering something to herself. The voice on the line kept screaming; I could hear it from a mile away.
"Quinn, I'm sure listening to another one of your lectures would be just swell, but I can't keep doing that if you deafen me." She said to the phone. "Let me guess, Eyo told you?"
"Yes he told me! It's hard not to notice when the Kuroki Twins now have a 2 million Izn bounty on our heads!"
"That's insulting." Mika said, smirking. Before the girl on the other side could scream again, she put the phone down on her desk, looking over at me.
"Aristocratic friend." Mika said. "Kuroki Quinn. You'll likely run into her at some point." She clapped her hands together and I was out like a light, not even having time to react.
...
"But I don't want to..."
"Shut up and listen!"
"You don't control me anymore!"
"Madness knows no control..."
"I made her like me, just like we talked about!"
"You dolt! You've cursed her!"
"It was your idea!"I shot up, breathing heavily and my palms shaking. Why did Mika send me over here so suddenly? She could've given me a warning or...
Jace?
He was just in a chair, facing the corner with his head tucked into his knees. He was talking to himself; what had happened while I was out?
"What's worse, I think that Johnny's soul is starting to merge with it. Should that happen, he's going to lose the entirety of his humanity and his mind...more so than now."
That's it. The monster inside was starting to merge with what he truly was, and he was trying to fight it off. I'll have to thank Mika for that later when I see her again tonight.
"Jace?"
"A-Ah!" He stuttered, shrinking further within himself. "P-Please, stay over there. I don't want you to see me like this. Damn it, now she knows something's wrong! Shut up fucker!"
"Jace, won't you just tell me what's wrong?" I asked, stepping out of the bed. The voice he was arguing with was more frightening than his own, more threatening.
"N-No, I can't! You wouldn't understand!" He shouted. Jace sighed loudly, twitching.
"I'm sorry. Now that you know what I am, I couldn't let you go. Now, we are one. Blood connects us all; not even demons can deny that." He explained. "One day, you'll understand why I had to do it (Name)-chan."
"What's happening to you?" I asked, stepping cautiously toward him.
"M-Monster inside...I'm trying to fight it." He admitted. He finally stood and faced me. Jace's left eye was the coal color of Mika's with blood red irises. Despite its frightening appearance, humanoid eye held a look of shame and fear.
"Happy now?" He asked dejectedly. "It's the mark of a criminal in Hell; the mark of a fugitive of Satanic Law. Those wanted by a Demon King or a Demon Lord. This eye only happens to things that once lived."
"Well, that explains just why Mika doesn't have one...but...won't the thing that's trying to hurt you hurt me too?" I asked, caressing his cheek in my hand. He shook his head, nuzzling it into my hand.
"I won't let it. There's someone I know on the other side that can get an antigen for you." He explained. "If I do that for you...you promise not to leave me behind (Name)? You chase the monster away." What was I supposed to say? If I tried to run, the same thing that happened to me would happen to him. Besides, who was I to leave him like this? Mika had a point.
"Of course." I told him, smiling.
"You have to say it." He said childishly. I led him to the bed, making him lay down and putting a blanket over him. Jace still looked at me, pouting childishly just like when we were kids. I sighed and laid next to him.
"I promise."
