Erza

The source of light was blinding as Jellal and I climbed the stairs of the opposing team's "house". There hadn't been any disruptions in our way, which meant Natsu, Lucy and Happy did their job well.

"Jellal," I whispered, tugging on his sleeve to go west. Their home place was a circular, round building with intertwining pathways, although much easier to decipher the directions than the elimination game in the GMG.

We fastened our pace to reach the upper level. Levy and Gajeel blocked the rest of the stairway, and after catching sight of us, Gajeel grinned. "We're not going to lose this, Erza!" He growled, going into his fighting stance.

"Us, too," I replied with ease. Jellal stayed behind me, looking like a spectator. However, his eyes were searching in case of any danger.

There was a clash against iron and sword, and Levy winced as if she were part of the impact. Gajeel propelled backwards at the blast, as I prepared myself for the next attack.

"Levy! Iron!" Levy nodded at his request, and quickly used some magic to give him iron to eat. I watched him carefully, and quickly dodged out of the way as the dragon slayer roared, "Roar of the iron dragon!"

The attack missed, barely scraping my shoulder. Gajeel's grin widened. "Gihehehe," he giggled, "This is fun!"

"C'mon, Gajeel!" Cheered Panther-lily from the sidelines.

Levy looked worried. "Gajeel, be careful!" She cried, inching closer to her partner.

The dragon slayer punched his fists together, and iron took over one of his arms. I stayed onto the defensive, saving my power for Laxus who I guessed was at the top of the tower. Jellal stepped closer into the arena. As Gajeel gave his last attack, I jumped over his hurtling body and grabbed my sniper hung onto my back. The shot rang into the air, and the bullet penetrated through the atmosphere before slamming into Gajeel's iron body.

"We won, I believe," Jellal stated as he edged around Gajeel's slumped body. Levy hurried towards him, allowing Jellal and I to get past. The blue haired gave a hesitant glance to the Fairy Tail wizards. "I'm sorry," he mumbled.

Levy laughed, "Gajeel knew he wasn't going to win against Erza anyway. And it's a paint ball. There's no damage done!"

Still, Jellal didn't look convinced. A flashback with him in the Tower of Heaven, controlled by Ultear, him suffering in prison—I clenched my fists as I promised myself to no longer let him suffer. He was always blaming himself, and I'd knock that out of him one day.

Natsu, Happy and Lucy rushed up the stairs. Natsu was panting heavily, Lucy had given up half way and was being carried by Happy.

"Lushee!" Happy whined, "you're heavy!"

"Be quiet! I promise to give you fish afterwards!" exclaimed Lucy, and Happy seemed to suddenly regain strength. "Just ask Natsu to go fishing."

"Hey!" Natsu disagreed.

Jellal stepped in. "I will go fishing with you, Happy," he suggested. Happy's face brightened whilst I shook my head.

"If Jellal's going, I will go too," I stated with no other intention that to keep Jellal company. Lucy's eyes widened and Natsu pumped his fists in the air. He was probably excited about not having to do a boring activity.
