Natsu

I noticed Lucy's gaze fall on a stall we had just passed. I grinned, suddenly knowing what to do. "Hey, Lucy!" I shouted, gaining her attention right after. "Stay here!"

Rushing off whilst leaving her hanging, I laughed as anger clouded her voice when she called for me. Her voice drained out as I turned a corner, and the stall filled my vision.

"Natsu, why did you leave Lushee behind?!" Asked a confused Happy. We'd never left behind a comrade before; however I was sure she was safe as there was a café nearby there.

"I wanna get her something!" I replied, looking behind my shoulder at the Exceed running beside me. "But we better hurry or otherwise Lucy will get mad! We'll never be invited to her apartment again!"

"We're never invited," Happy stated, now flying with his large, white wings.

We arrived at the stall, though it now had a long queue. A large man who was taller than me blocked my view, and I craned my neck to at least look around his shoulder.

"Happy, can you see anything?" I asked to the Exceed atop my head.

"No I can't see!"

After about 5 minutes of waiting and staying at the same place, I decided to barge through the line. My fists turned into fire as I punched the man in front of me, and leaped over the last remaining few. The guy at the stall looked terrified when we reached to the front.

"Wh-what do you want?! Jewels? Look—I-I'll give you all!" He reached for the counter and dangled jewels in front of me.

My eyes narrowed, "Stealing is for cowards." Happy nodded his head in agreement.

The guy caught sight of the Fairy Tail mark on my shoulder. He gasped in astonishment. "Y-you're from F-Fairy Tail?!" He said, bewildered. "Wow! Y-You must be such a strong wizard!"

His gushing stopped at my ear as I concentrated my attention onto the prizes. Apparently you had to hit something I couldn't remember to a very high point.

"Where's the hammer?" I commanded, a stuffed toy dragon catching my eye. The guy behind the store—I decided his name will be Stutter—handed me a hammer nervously. I couldn't find the place to hit. "Stutter, where do I hit?"

"S-stutter?!" Stutter said. He looked as if he wanted to cry suddenly, "t-that's a be-beautiful name!"

"Natsu," came Happy's voice. "Something's wrong with him. Why is he crying over a name?" His voice overdid Stutter's cries.

"I dunno," I replied. Tired of his crying, I slammed the hammer onto the wood which made up the counter. He snapped out of his childish ways as soon as he heard the noise.

"Gimme the dragon and write Lucy on it," I told him. He carefully wrote Lucy's name in bright, swirly and golden letters, and handed it to me with his head bowed down.

"Thanks!" I said, rather cheerfully. I took off, though without hearing Happy and Stutter say something clearly. Apparently I was bipolar... Whatever that meant.

Hitting off the pavement with my long strides, Happy and I finally reached back to an angry-looking Lucy.

She didn't miss a beat. "Where did you go?! I tried to catch up to you but you just ran off!" I gave a sign to Happy to wrap a blindfold around Lucy's eyes.

"Aye sir!" He said, flying behind Lucy's head and throwing my scarf around her eyes.

Lucy's cheeks flamed. "Get it off me, Natsu!" She tried to untangle the knot at the back, but Happy was holding on to it with all the strength he could muster.

I walked nearer to her presence and placed the stuff dragon in her open hands. "Eh? What's this?" Lucy fumbled around the soft toy and sighed when she couldn't reach a conclusion.

Carefully, I reached around her head and pulled off my scarf. She stared at the dragon, turning it on its side and back. Her face flushed when she read her name on the back.

I pulled out a stuffed red heart from my back pack. Happy took a look at it and gave a gasp. "Natsu! You stole a toy!"

Lucy's face changed instantly. "Natsu, return it! You can't just steal—". I brightened when I saw my name on the heart, and showed it to her.

"See? Now I'll always remember you," I told her. She blushed, although Happy looked distraught.

"Where is mine?" He complained. I patted him on the head.

Confusion filled my being as Lucy suddenly caused a flood of tears. "Wha-what?" I quickly came beside her and pulled her into an embrace. "I can get something else for you then," I suggested.

She shook her head and smiled, tears still in her eyes. "These," she pointed to her pretty, brown eyes that reflected my face, "are happy tears."

"Then why are you crying? You cry when you're sad," Happy announced my thoughts.

"Yeah, I don't get it."

She was still shaking her head. "This is so cheesy," she explained to me. "You'll always be in my heart. I don't need something to remember you by."

"Oooooh," I now understood why she was crying. "You want cheese!" Rummaging through my bag, I pulled out some cheese I had stolen from a shop around here.

Something slapped the top of my salmon coloured hair. "That's not what I meant, Baka!"
