Wendy
I woke up to the sound of Mirajane and Zach conversing. Carla, huddled near my side, stirred as I carefully got off the bed, and I crossed my fingers in hope it didn't wake her. With ease, I tied up my blue, long hair into my usual hairstyle—two small pigtails on either side, whereas the rest of my hair tumbled down to my mid-back.
"That's great, Zach!" Mirajane exclaimed, and I noticed she was dancing around the room in her excitement. Abruptly, a hand clamped onto my mouth as I was about to take a step inside.
Twisting and turning, I attempted to wiggle out of his grasp. As the male did let go, I gave him a glare. Laxus' face tightened as he watched Mirajane and Zach, who seemed to get along decently.
My laugh came out short, "Laxus! You're jealous!"
"No I'm not!" He countered, blushing red. Noticing what he did, he immediately returned to his expression everyone grew accustomed to—the annoyed, exasperated look. "Whatever. I'm heading back up."
I furrowed my brow, but at last gave in when realising Mirajane would hate to be disrupted in her plans. Especially by her crush(?).
Pretending that I just woke up, I went in with my arms up and stretched. Surely she wouldn't tell off a 14 year old who didn't take part in any of her love plans?
"Ohayo," I greeted Mirajane and Zach and seated myself on the table, waiting for the pancakes Mirajane were making. My scent of smell was more sharp than most people since I was a dragon slayer—although Mirajane had only started making pancakes, I could already taste the meal on my tongue.
I glanced up as Natsu tumbled down the stairs, looking hyper as he smelt the pancakes. "I'm hungry!" He announced as he sat in his seat, Happy flying right behind him.
"Aye!" Happy agreed, as Mirajane and Zach served the pancakes. They both gobbled it down eagerly, and Zach laughed at their appetite.
"Oh yeah," Natsu seemed to only notice he was there, "Why're you here, Zach?"
"I was telling Mirajane about a funfare downstairs. She wanted to plan something for you guys, you see." My face lit up when he said 'funfair'. I had never been before, but those who went seemed to enjoy it a lot.
However, Natsu suddenly looked sick, whilst Mirajane looked taken aback. "You're not even on the rollercoaster yet, but you still feel sick thinking about it?!" I laughed at his expression, and Happy attempted to calm him down by patting his back. Sighing, I rose from my seat and my finished pancake, and put Troia on him—but it didn't work.
"Troia! Troia!" I cried, and Natsu only looked more unwell.
"What's with all this noise?" Lucy called as she came downstairs. She took a look at the state Natsu was in. "Why's he sick? We're not travelling!"
"We told him about the funfare we're going to... With rollercoaster rides," Mira informed, placing down a pancake atop a plate for Lucy. At the commotion, everyone else ran downstairs. The males, noticing Natsu missing from the dorm, entered into the dining room (which was connected to both dorms).
Zach left after the Fairy Tail guild arrived downstairs—which Laxus looked relieved about. Carla sighed, "It seems as if this training camp is jammed packed with activities, right Wendy?" I gave her a smile in return.
Everyone gasped when we arrived at the funfare. The sky was on our side too—clear and light, stretching across the horizon. Natsu was filled with maximum jauntiness, and bounded off towards one of the food stores (well attempted to) before Mirajane gripped him by his scarf and swung him back.
As per usual, Juvia seemed more interested in Gray rather than the scenery, and Levy looked as if reading books would be more beneficial than this day out. Luckily, Troia still worked on Gajeel and Laxus, but for Natsu, rides were a problem.
"Soooo," Mirajane said to the whole group, "you will be in partners! And since it's a free day you can do whatever you want!"
"I'd prefer to practise my sword fighting, Mira," Erza began with an exasperated sigh. The said Mage pretended not to hear. Erza growled, "I want to practise sword fighting, rather than going on rides!"
Mirajane tutted, "You do know cake stores are in this fair." That seemed to shut Erza up.
The white haired began to call out names—Lucy, Natsu. Erza and Jellal. Panther lily, Gajeel, Levy. Bickslow and Lisanna. Gray and Juvia. Happy and Carla. Then, Romeo and I.
"Meredy!" Juvia slammed into the pink haired, leaving Gray behind. It must be because of the heat, since for some reason Gray proceeded to look unhappy.
"Meredy," Erza said, surprised as to why she was near the training resort. Jellal shared the same expression.
"Hello Meredy!" I greeted, "What are you doing here?"
She crossed her arms over her chest as if it was meant to be obvious. "I can't allow Jellal to have all the fun, can I?"
Gray looked down onto the floor, pain flashing through his features. My eyes casted downwards too, remembering the loss Jellal and Meredy suffered. I felt a warm hand on my back; a comforting gesture.
Heaving in a breath, I caught sight of the source of contact—Romeo.
"Wendy-nee, today is meant to be fun. So let's have fun! Forget about the past, alright?" I flashed a smile to Romeo, and held his hands. Romeo turned to face Mirajane. "Mira-nee, Wendy-nee and I are gonna head off first, 'kay?"
Mirajane grinned and shoed us off.
Our first stop was to get candy floss. We sat on a bench on the outskirts of the fanfare, eating our pink, fluffy food in silence. At last, someone began to start the conversation.
"Hey, you have some candy floss on your face," the stranger commented. He was a small, stout chubby child with a mouth that poked out from his flat face. Contrasting to the two slim, tall and lean males behind him, I stifled a giggle.
I used my hands to feel for any candy floss on my cheeks and near my mouth, unfortunately not being able to feel any sticky surface. As I turned to look back at him, a candy floss jabbed straight into my face. Grimacing at the sweet, sticky feeling on my face, I made a move to wipe it off with a tissue that came with the candy floss.
"Oi!" I heard Romeo shout along with some running footsteps. Before Romeo could move, I pulled him back with his sleeve.
"It's okay, Romeo. It's just candy floss."
"But still—!" He took off his own tissue and began to wipe off the candy floss on my face. I blushed when I realised he was so close to me; even our breaths tingled.
And before I could think, his face smashed right into mine. Our lips barely scraped each other, but it was enough for me to turn into a tomato.
"Sorry, sorry!" I heard Carla say. "Happy was chasing me around—".
Neither Romeo or I could bring ourselves to glare at the Exceed. We were just too embarrassed.
