Lucy
As we all piled in onto the sofas, Mira jabbed at the remote control and slipped in a CD. With a satisfied look, she squeezed next to Laxus who sat alone on one half of a heart shaped sofa. He'd instantly regretted sitting on it, because everyone looked as if they were judging him. Natsu and Gray were trying their hardest not to explode in laughter. And even Erza was biting her lip.
"What are we watching, Mira?" Asked Levy, her eyes furrowed in one of her books. She'd now had taken an interest in A Game Of Thrones, which Gajeel had described as "not making any sense".
Mira cleared her throat as Natsu made the sofa dip due to his weight. It made me lean towards him accidentally, our knees and shoulders touching. Jellal came in just in time, his arm flooded with popcorn and snacks since he had lost the rock, paper and scissors competition. "The one and only Annabelle," she smirked, plucking at her nails.
"Oooh," Levy exclaimed excitedly. "I love that film! I've watched it hundreds of times before!"
I gave her a look. Although Levy had a small, childish frame, she was much braver than what I was capable of. "Juvia can't bear to watch horror films!" Juvia said in contrast to Levy, snuggling closer to Gray. He casted his eyes towards her briefly, a small smile tugging to his lips.
On the other hand, I was already comfortable. Natsu's warmth radiated from him and coated my skin, and Happy was also there to keep me company.
"Hmph," Erza said as if she was disappointed with the choice of film. "I'd rather watch Me Before You. True romance will always be better than horrors."
"Guys, be quiet! The film's starting!" Lisanna shrieked as eerie music escaped from the TV.
Nobody said a word throughout the film, as if the face of Annabelle was enough to scare them all. (Except from Levy, who was mouthing each sentence). I groaned as Natsu grabbed a handful of popcorn and threw it into his mouth, leaving only a small amount left. As he prepared himself for another fill, I smacked his hand away.
"Stop it! Save some for me!" I whisper-yelled, eyes shining when he rubbed the skin where I had hit.
He looked at me in horror. "Sorry, Luce." He looked exactly like a baby. Pouting, I took a handful of popcorn for myself. The blue from the TV sprinkled glitter onto Natsu's hair, making it almost lilac.
Natsu seemed to be looking at me for the entire film; I was sure he hadn't even glanced once at the TV screen. I cradled Happy nearer to my chest as the music increased. Preparing myself for a jump scare, I squeezed my eyes shut.
And there was a shout. But it didn't come from the TV. In fact, it came from my lungs which seemed to have taken up too much air and lost them all at once. I felt Natsu's arms wrap protectively around me as I blinked once, then twice.
Juvia snuggled closer to Gray's chest, Mira, Levy and Erza were staring intently at the screen as if wanting more scares, but unfortunately for Jellal he was being suffocated by Erza's embrace as his head was on Erza's knees and her arms tightly around his neck.
"E-erm, Natsu, you can let go now," I said, pushing myself away from him. "Thanks."
"It's my duty as your boyfriend!" He said in a superior way. Happy nodded, twisting the head off his fish. I smiled. What did I do to deserve someone like him?
