Yesterday I did my music ABRSM exam—which went terribly by the way—so now it's off my mind! Also, I'm really grateful to all of you... Usually I only get about 10 new reads per day, and today there were 64! Thank you very much! ❤️
Juvia
The ladder nearly toppled over as I put my whole weight to the right. A picture of Gray-sama and I was held tightly in my hand, and I strained to reach to the corner of the room where I planned for it to be stuck onto. All around me were banners and art works of us, starting from the moment I met Gray-sama until recently.
With a larger push, the portrait escaped from my hand and slammed onto the wall. I felt a blush creep up my cheeks as memories of that day slid through my mind like the smooth surface of water atop of ice. Gray-sama's shirt wasn't on, and wasn't aware of the image being taken. I was at the front, posing, and Gray-sama's shocked face was at the back. His body was tilted, turning around to not have his face in the shot. It was taken at the guild, just before he, Erza, Natsu and Lucy went on a job together.
I started to sway from both side to side, my hands overlapping each other which rested on the side of my cheek. My eyes scrolled to all other pictures, set into a timeline. Oh, how hot he looked in each of them! I'd even put the dates and time on them, to remind me of every special day.
Pounding my fists into the air, I leaned backwards too far and was falling, falling downwards. The journey never seemed to stop—everything was slow motion. Even the ladder which was now tilting to the left, and the images made out of paper flapping due to the wind moved lazily. I gasped as cool air rushed to my back, attempting to push me upright, but the strength of it too weak.
"Argh!" I wailed, closing my eyes as a vision of me splatting onto the ground flooded into my vision. A hard, cold surface met the force I was colliding into it with, making my back ache and turn sensitive. "Ouch," I groaned, though my pain was soothed when my gaze met each of the pictures.
Footsteps familiar to me pounded from just the next room. Abruptly I got up and patted dirt off my maid outfit. "Juvia!" I heard Gray-same call. I blushed again—his voice, his presence near me... What was there not to like about him?! Somehow it made me frustrated by how imperfect I was to him.
"Gray-sama!" I called out to him, "Juvia is waiting for you here!" Fortunately for me, living with him for a whole week, and being his maid for a whole day was a dream I'd always wanted to become reality.
The tall, muscular and raven-haired male stalked into the room I was in, looking even better than usual—or maybe that was just my imagination. Nothing could top his looks. "I just heard a loud noise. Are you alright?"
He touched my forehead lightly, which sent a vibrating sensation down my whole body. "Actually...," I said, biting down on my lip, "Juvia fell down on her back."
Gray-sama went red in the face and hesitantly raced his hands lightly down my back. I leaned to his touch, my love for him bursting out of my chest. Even if it was a hard fall, Gray-Sama could heal me in an instant! I was too embraced in his warmth to realise time was ticking by. Obviously, with days like these too rare to catch, I had to make the most out of it!
"Since Juvia is your maid, what should she do for you, Gray-Sama?" I asked him, curtsying as I was overjoyed to be in such position. "Does Gray-Sama want to..." I whispered flirtatiously, unending my sentence for him to figure out for himself.
"H-how about a glass of water?" Gray-sama bursted out, away from his comfort zone. I smiled and grabbed a glass cup from the kitchen, quickly filling it with water. As I reached back to him, I curtsied again, "Anything for you, Gray-sama."
He took a sip from the glass of water, and seemed to contemplate about something. When he finished, he placed the cup on his desk and a pink blush was visible on his cheeks. "Juvia..." I swooned as he mentioned my name, "As you're my maid, you need to know how to ice-skate."
Was this his way of asking me out on a date? How generous, how romantic! I nodded excitedly, "Of course Juvia will come! Of course!" With both of us smiling, he led me out of our house, and into the ice rink right in the corner.
He chuckled as I half-skipped to the ice rink. I wasn't aware of how to ice-skate, as I'd never been before, but I was confident Gray-Sama would be able to teach me well. We both rented ice skates from the workers there, and I tugged them on impatiently.
I stood up, wobbling slightly. Gray-sama steadied me by snaking his arm around my waist. He entered the ice rink first, then outstretched his hand to support me. I blushed out our contact, but the feeling skidded to a halt when I nearly fell flat onto my face. Luckily Gray-sama held onto my arm last minute.
Holding onto the outskirts of the rink, I watched in wonder as Gray-Sama danced around the ice, his ice skates sliding gracefully against the ice he was so familiar with. "Gray-sama sure is amazing," I muttered to myself, enjoying his performance since it felt as if it were meant for me.
"Do you understand now?" Gray-Sama panted as he reached back to me after a full lap. I stared at him; I was too engrossed in his skating that I didn't listen to his instructions.
"Juvia-Juvia..." I attempted to tell him an excuse, but none came to my mouth since his flushed face was so near me. I gulped back a clump of saliva.
Gray-Sama laughed, "Then you're going to learn the hard way."
Before I could say anything back, he took me by my arm and sent me gliding to the middle of the ice rink. I nearly screamed, but held back as Gray-sama's warmth filled my body. He taught me to take a few steps first, and then start to glide.
My first few attempts were absolute failures. I'd persevered through slipping or crossing over my legs accidentally, causing my near-death. But after a tiring 30 minutes, I'd finally regained by posture and was able to skate well. Gray-sama and I held hands as we zoomed past the others leisurely skating, the cold never biting our skin due to the warmth we gave each other.
I watched him sneak a glance at me and smiled, the happiness replicating on his face too. I didn't want this trip to end!
