Guys, thank you so much for 500+ reads! I love you all! If this book gets more than 1.5K reads, (1500), I promise I'll do a Q&A and possibly a chapter where I'll pair you up with Fairy Tail characters! I'm really excited to make that happen! Let's just hope this fanfic gets a little more in popularity!

I blew hair off my face as I sighed in exasperation. Gajeel was eager to head over to the Haunted Ride with a dodgy sign. It was literally on the verge of falling off; the "i" and "d" from the word "ride" was stripped off from the banner, and the rest of the poor letters were not in a better state either. They were either hanging on by one or two pins.

"No, Gajeel, I'll wait here," I clarified, looking up into his deep, captivating red eyes.

"Aw, c'mon, it's gonna be fun!" He exclaimed excitedly, doing a funny, awkward pose with his arms out straight and his legs in a lunge. He didn't need to know that I was absolutely terrified of rollercoaster rides, and I was 100% sure that nothing would persuade me to set foot in it again.

Selfishly, I wished the Troia didn't work for this iron-headed idiot. Firstly, we wouldn't even be queuing up to enter into my doom, and secondly I'd be able to enjoy this sunny day with reading outside. Gajeel Redfox had never been in a rollercoaster before—I didn't want to be the reason to stop him, however rollercoasters were not my thing. Hands down.

The queue eased and spread, leaving Gajeel and I the next batch to get our tickets. Well, his tickets. I adjusted my bandanna and tugged on my blue hair, before soothing my temple with two fingers. Gajeel and I had been back and forth on this conversation ever since Mira left us to it, and it was getting irritating.

Although he'd stop pleading with words, his face expression said otherwise. His piercings still made him look brutal, cold and harsh, but he seemed so desperate to head on the ride with me.

Which made me sure that he wouldn't be buying the tickets as he'd probably get one for me too. Also the fact he probably couldn't do maths.

"Next," a man drawled. He took a look at Gajeel and didn't bother to look down from the counter. "An adult ticket and a child's I suppose?"

Oh no he didn't.

"Excuse me, I'm not a child," I huffed rather angrily, ignoring Gajeel's snicker.

"Really now? Could have fooled me for a minute," the guy behind said again. "Well anyways, a child ticket is—."

Gajeel seemed to have just realised my change of mood and the rudeness of the ticket man. He slammed his fists onto the table, making the man jump. "You've heard her. She's an adult—like you, like me. So back off and give us tickets now."

I blushed as Gajeel stood up for me. Of course, he has before, but it was with Panther-Lily and others. Now it seemed different... As if with more care and affection.

"W-Whatever. Adult tickets are £2.50 each." Gajeel took a long look at the receipt in front of him. He had furrowed eyebrows and didn't seem to realise he had a habit of running his fingers down his long, black hair.

Gajeel grunted at the receipt, taking longer than an average parent would. I decided to help him, feeling sorry for him. Handing the man behind with a £2.50 change, I took a step back, having an intention of waving Gajeel off.

To my surprise, he pulled me by my arm. "Mira payed for us beforehand, gihee!" He dragged me along with him, turning his back to those in queue who were judging us; having a thrashing woman in a man's arm was weird and suspicious.

"Let go, Gajeel!" I shouted, pushing his arm away with all my might, "You're strangling me!" He sure was—his arms were wrapped around my neck and the grip was incredibly tight. Gajeel didn't seem to know his own strength and capabilities.

"Shrimp, I'm not gonna let you get lost in this sea of people. And then get eaten by a whale."

My eyebrow twitched. "Did you just try to make a metaphor?"

He shrugged, "It was worth a shot." I snorted loudly and shook my head. He looked at me with a spark in his eye, showing amusement.

"That- that was... the worse metaphor I've...ever heard...in my whole entire life!" I admitted between breaths since I was laughing too hard. My breath hitched as the rollercoaster moved underneath me.

"No-no," I breathed, trying to lean my whole weight to the back for it to stop moving. "Get me off! Off, I say!"

"Gihee," I heard Gajeel beside me. I glared at him, but he wasn't able to see me since we were now surrounded in pitch black.

Stumbling towards the source of his voice, I felt a hand slithering on my shoulder. My eyes widened at the sight—they were green, webbed hands. Trying to swat it away, my breathing quickened as warm air entered from the side of my neck.

Everything faded out as I screamed. Gajeel cried, "Get your hands off my—" but that too zoned away.

And suddenly the rollercoaster exploded.
