Chapter Sixty Six

"Let's break up"

The voice was so low, Chanyeol doubted that he heard something. "What?" he asks again and this time, Baekhyun sits to face him. He looks horrible, messy oily hair, huge eyebags and lifeless expression.

"I can't handle this anymore. I don't want to be a burden to you and your family. Your mother was right, I am a monster. Not like what she expected, but she was correct. I can't have you in my life if I am like this Chanyeol. Besides, if you think I'm a toy---" he was cut of when Chanyeol cups his face and moves near him.

"No, don't say those words. You are not a monster.   Split personality doesn't make you one. It can go away, I have read a lot of books in your case. It is still possible" he tries hoping to see the fire of hope in Baekhyun's eyes, but there were dead. He never expected this, not from Byun Baekhyun who is a believer of "forever".

Baekhyun couldn't look at Chanyeol's eyes. He knows he'd break and change his mind. But for 3 days of contemplating, he needs to remove every single one of them. Even Eunji. He needs to move away so he wouldn't hurt any of them. Sure, Taehyung is kind and wouldn't do anything stupid, but what if there's another persona inside of him? Or what if Taehyung decides to take over? What will happen to Eunji? Luhan? Or even Chanyeol? He can't have a relationship with two personas, that's insane.

"I've decided to remove Taehyung from my system. I don't know when but once I am ready. But I can't have you in my life anymore Chanyeol. I can't hurt you anymore, I've done too much damage already"

Chanyeol removes his hands from Baekhyun's cheeks and tries to calm down. He wants to smash everything in the room because he can't understand why Baekhyun is doing this. "I can handle you. I've been doing it for quite a while now. Stop saying those things! Haven't I prove myself to you? Baekhyun, don't do this."

Baekhyun takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry Chanyeol. But my decision is final"

Chanyeol's new world is slowly going back to what it is before. His cold and robotic world without Baekhyun the sunshine. "Baekhyun..."

Baekhyun fakes a smile, "Chanyeol. Please. I am thankful for having you in my life, to put up with me and my persona. Thank you."

Chanyeol is defeated, he can't change Baekhyun's mind. He closes his eyes, hoping this is all a dream, but it isn't. He opens his eyes to see Baekhyun crying. "I love you Byun Baekhyun. I will wait for the day that you will want me back. If ever, someday you decide to come back  to me, I'll be waiting by your favorite spot at the park."

Baekhyun's heart is melting, he is so close to changing his decision when he suddenly remembered Kyungsoo and Chanyeol's mother. The people who are willing to sacrifice everything just so Chanyeol can be successful. Baekhyun doesn't want to be the reason why Chanyeol's life plan will fail. He wants to see his love rise from the bottom.

"Don't do that, Chanyeol"

But Chanyeol, as arrogant as he is, doesn't listen to Baekhyun at all. "I'll always be there, no matter how long it takes." Before Baekhyun could protest, Chanyeol kissed him.

Chanyeol smiles as he moves away. He cups Baekhyun's cheeks once again and leaves.

Baekhyun watches as his lover walk out of the door, and probably from his life.
