Chapter Thirty Two

Chanyeol watches as Kai and Baekhyun talk to each other. He couldn't understand what he did exactly, he was just so desperate to get Kyungsoo out of his head that he did not consider a lot of things. One is Baekhyun, since he can't afford the latter to fall for him even more, two is the fact that he has to "act" well throughout this so called relationship since his image and reputation is on the line and third is what would people think, since he is known as a straight man in the industry, he has to find a way to hide Baekhyun's real identity.

"So what's special about him?"

Chanyeol moves his gaze away to the person beside him. Suho seems to be looking at Baekhyun at Kai who looks like are debating about something serious. Chanyeol lightly smiles, "What makes you ask that?"

Suho looks at Chanyeol, "I've been friends with you Chanyeol, not like Kai but I know you and your reputation. Why break it?" Chanyeol looks at Suho, "if you really know me then you'll understand" Suho looks at him with worried eyes, "don't do this to yourself.. If you hate your life that much, don't drag Baekhyun into this"

Baekhyun lightly smiles, a smile Kai never expected to see from his friend, not when it's about Chanyeol. "Kai, don't worry about me. I need to be distracted as well.. I need Taeyeon to go out of my head" Kai shakes his head, "but being with Chanyeol is worst than that. Please, believe me just this once."

It was late when the gathering ended, Chanyeol decided to give Baekhyun a ride home. But what Chanyeol did not expect is to have a quiet Baekhyun. "Um.. Is everything alright?" He asks, Baekhyun looked like he wanted to say something but he chose not to.

Chanyeol then stops the car and looks at the latter. "Tell me Baek" Baekhyun looks at him, full of confusion and fear. "Why did you tell those people that? Why did you tell them that I'm yours? What do you mean by that?"

Chanyeol sighs, he knows that Baekhyun is not dumb not to ask those questions and honestly, Chanyeol is confused by himself as well. He looks away, "I'm sorry.. I didn't know what's gotten into me" Baekhyun holds his fist, "I'm not a toy Chanyeol"

This time, Chanyeol was the one who was surprised. "W-what?" Baekhyun looks like he's about to cry but he kept his composure. "I know that you pity me, that you know what I've been going through and I honestly don't know your relationship with your bestfriend but please... Leave me out of it." Chanyeol couldn't speak, he's starting to think that Kai was the one who gave the information to Baekhyun but the same time he doesn't want to blame his own friend.

He knows what he did was wrong but the same time he doesn't want to take it back. Somehow in that announcement, he felt good.

"I can't take it back.. I.. I know your feelings for me"

Baekhyun's eyes widen, he slowly turns to Chanyeol, not sure what to say or what to react. "H-how..." He cups his mouth, he wants to run off and be eaten by the land for embarassment but the same time he knows he can't. "I.. Don't.. Um, this is all a misunderstanding"

"I wanted to give us a try" Chanyeol spoke in a low tone, he looks at Baekhyun with sincerity. But Baekhyun was so shocked, he was frozen on the spot.

"W-what are you talking about?" Baekhyun asks, he couldn't comprehend what is happening because he was so sure that Chanyeol does not like him, add to the fact that Kai told him that Kyungsoo is the most important person in Chanyeol life. Also, Baekhyun knows that he can't enter a relationship, sure he likes Chanyeol but he loves Taeyeon and the most important part is that he is not gay.

Chanyeol knows it was a risk, all his plans will change because of Baekhyun and who knows what more damage it can come but he's already there. He started this and only he can stop it. Although this is a risk, Chanyeol has a plan. Since they're already in their 4th year college, he knows that he can easily move out of Baekhyun's life whenever he wants to, especially after graduation. He just needs someone right now, someone who can distract him the same as Kyungsoo.

He doesn't care if Baekhyun really develops feelings for him. All he needs to do is save himself.

"I chose you Baekhyun.. Will you choose me as well?"
