Chapter Sixty Four

Baekhyun watches as Luhan opens his laptop. Everything is happening too fast; before Baekhyun can accept that Chanyeol thinks he's just a toy, he found out that he has a split personality.

Luhan clicks a file and the video plays. Luhan moves the laptop to Baekhyun and sits beside Chanyeol and Sehun at the back. Never did he imagine that this day would come; at the most inappropriate time.

Baekhyun watched as the video plays. The setting is in his room, probably 2 years ago. He then sees himself, sitting across the camera. It looks just like him, wearing his own clothes.

But Baekhyun knows by the way this imposter looks and acts, it is not him.

"Hi. I'm Taehyung."

The name sounded so familiar, not just because he heard it awhile ago or from Chanyeol before, but the name Taehyung is so familiar like his own name.

Taehyun looks nervous in the video, as if Baekhyun is really infront of him. The anger in his eyes are no longer there and his voice is softer than usual.

"I know this must've been a surprise for you but even if I wanted to hide my existence, I know that someday, the truth will be revealed. I am your second persona. I'm sure you've heard about the case of split personality before, and unfortunately, you have one"

Baekhyun couldn't comprehend what he's hearing. He doesn't know if this is some prank or a sick joke. Nonetheless, he is not liking it one bit.

"You created me when you were a child. I think it is because of your arrogant father. You created me to be your protector and I did my role with dignity. There are a lot of times when certain things happen and you can't remember any of it, it is because I took control of you. I know you're confused and maybe afraid, but don't be. I never did anything to harm you, instead I protected you from everyone. I also do not plan on taking over your body, it is yours. My only duty is to make sure that you are happy."

It suddenly made sense, all those moments when Baekhyun blacks out and can't remember anything that happened before. The feeling of having someone there to comfort you when you just want to disappear, it is all Taehyung's doing. Everything is clear to Baekhyun, yet he can't accept what's infront of him.

"I know someday you'll think of removing me, I won't stop you. That is your decision, I just want to tell you how happy I am to be your persona."

The video ends with Taehyung trying his best not to cry. Baekhyun was speechless. He doesn't know what to react. Has his life been a lie all along?
