Towards the end of lunch, after we've all eaten and we're waiting for the bell to ring, when a twig thin, blond headed girl twitched over to us.
She sets herself right onto Ash's lap, moments ago everyone was laughing, but now it was dead silent.
One of the guys coughs and a few others shift, but i'm pretty sure i'm missing something. She says,
"Hey babe, why haven't you called me? It's been like, a whole two weeks!"
Ash rolls his eyes and looks annoyed. He grabs her by the waist and picks her up, practically throwing her off his lap.
"Look, Rebecca, we've been over this, so I'll say it one last time so you can get it through that stupid blond head of yours. We. Are. Not. Together. Now get lost, i'm having a conversation with my friends."
Rebecca laughs, a horrid, cold sound.
"Honey, really?" She looks over at me. "You can do so much better than a blood sucking bitch from a foreign country."
I feel my eyes flash crimson red and I stand up to see her over Ash.
"You want to say that again to my face you anorexic, blond bitch?"
"Oh i'm sorry, I forgot you don't speak very good English, I'll slow it down--"
She's cut off as I bring up my hand, and slap the bitch across the face.
She screams and clutches her cheek, falling on her ass in front of the whole cafeteria. I stand straight and cross my arms over my chest.
"Oh i'm sorry what was that? Oh, ya that was the sound of you leaving, bye bye now."
I wave to her as she gets up and runs out of the cafeteria. I sit back down and the whole cafeteria is completely silent. Then, everyone starts clapping and laughing. I'm confused so I turn to Ash.
"What did I do?"
He's laughing so hard, he pounds the table with his fist and all the guys are hooting with laughter. Eventually he answers me.
"Well, sweetheart, you just slapped the most popular girl in the school in the face, and made her fall on her ass in front of everyone. I gotta hand it to ya, you got some nerve."
"Well, she pissed me off, what was I supposed to do?"
They all just keep laughing until their all red faced, and a few of them reach over and pat me on the back, Ash smiles at me and hugs me, saying
"You got some nerve kid, thanks."
"Anytime, i'm here for what, the next year or two?"
They all just laugh again, and this time I join them.
