Chapter song~ toxic by Brittany Spears

When I get home, I go in tossing my bag on my bed, but am surprised to find no one home. Marks gone. I should've known this would happen, I start getting worked up and mad, then I realize I can hear the shower going to my left. I sigh and roll my eyes at myself, worked up over nothing. I grab a water from the fridge and kick off my boots. Sitting on my bed, I pull out my sketching book from my bag and flip to a fresh page.

I begin absentmindedly sketching, and before I know it, I look down at half a face staring back at me. I almost gasp at how similar it is to his, I rip it out and shred it before tossing it in the trash. I really need to get him off my mind. I hear the water shut off finally in the bathroom and the door opens. I look up and immediately wish I hadn't. Mark stands there, unaware that I'm home, with a towel wrapped dangerously loose around his waist and a smaller one towel drying his hair. Its gotten longer, he let it grow out, to the point where its starting to curl slightly at the base of his neck. I blink a few times and clear my throat loudly averting my eyes before they start to travel. He jumps with a shout startled and almost drops his towel, I squeal and cover my burning face with my sketch book.

"Holy shit Jade, make a noise or someing don't sneak up on me like that."

I start giggling, of all things I start laughing, what's wrong with me?

"I did, your were just to deaf to hear it, plus it's my apartment, I can do as I please."

He shoots me a glare,

"Well sorry we can't all have super hearing like you."

I peek over my book cautiously hiding a smirk behind it,

"True. Now hurry up in the bathroom, I have stuff to do."

He huffs at me annoyed and goes back in with a bag I'm guessing containing clothes.

About ten minutes later, he finally comes out in jeans and a blue shirt that looks a smidge to tight, but I'm not complaining.

"Finally, its about time, your slower than a girl in there."

He just rolls his eyes at me and goes to grab my book which is open to the waterfall that I drew a few days ago.

"Oh shut up, since when do you draw?"

"For awhile now, there's a lot of things I can do now you don't know about."

"Oh yeah? Like what?"

He gives me a playfully dangerous look and I narrow my eyes crossing my arms.

"Let's see, well, I can draw, sing, play violin and piano. I own three horses I've raised and trained myself which I ride, and a lot more.I can go on and on if you'd like, I can get into running or senses..."

He cuts me off with a short laugh.

"Please, I probably know more of what your capable of than you do, being that I am the hunter and you are the prey."

I narrow my eyes again,

"Please enlighten me, how do you know more about me than I do when you've been missing for almost nine years now, hm?"

He scoffs, "That's an easy one. I've been training and learning about your kind little girl. I know all of your secrets when is comes to your kind, I don't recommend you test me. You might be stronger, faster, and have heightened senses, but don't forget that hunters have all the weapons in the world to end you and your race, perminantly. I know all about your little mind control games and what happens if you get addicted to human blood, hunters, we aren't as clueless as you think...."
