Chapter song~ Ain't it fun by paramore

The waterfall is just as pretty as I remember it the first time I saw it.

Same clear blue water, big waterfall, surrounded by the green forest. Except this time, its full of senior partiers drinking alcohol out of red solo cups.

I look around. Its not like we never had high school party's in France, it was just never even close to this.

Pretty much all girls are in skanky, barely there, extreme cleavage revealing bits of clothing. I wouldn't even consider them bathing suits. And I thought mine was bad, god whats wrong with these people?

At least the guys are relatively normal, besides rudely staring at girls, making crude gestures and saying things I'd never want to hear again. Why is it I even came I still don't know, besides a handful of people I hardly know anyone.

I set my towel down just behind the tree line to keep it out of anyone's way. I laugh silently as some drunk girl trips and falls on her face, fake boobs almost popping out of her almost non-existent top.

This is hilarious, but yet i'm curious. I've never been drunk, vampires have an extremely high alcohol tolerance. I want to join In, but have no idea what to do.

Saving me from my inner conflict, Ash comes over and offers me a solo cup half filled with liquid. I take it, wondering what it tastes like.

"What is this?"

"Beer, you've never had it?"

"No."

He laughs at me.

"Why do you find that funny?"

"Because I cant picture you drunk."

"Well you never will, because I will never 'be drunk' as you put it."

He laughs harder, its annoying but yet I laugh too.

"Just try it, you might like it."

"Fine, but if I don't, it'll end up all over your face."

He laughs and I raise the cup to my lips, tilting back slightly. I can already smell it, it has a strong odor that tickles my nose. He watches me take a sip, and its surprisingly not half bad. More of an acquired taste though. It burns my throat as I swallow and I cough, eyes watering for a moment.

"What the hell is this?"

He's still laughing at my reaction, but eventually replies,

"Welcome to America, now you've officially had beer."

"Well it tastes like cat piss."

"You get used to it. "

I snort,

"Rightttt."

We laugh for a moment before I ask,

"Are your friends here?"

"Yeah, there here somewhere."

"Why don't you go find them then, take a break from playing superman slash tour guide."

"You sure?"

I roll my eyes,

"Yes i'm sure, i'm a big girl I can handle myself."

"I noticed."

He grins stupidly, but in a kind of cute way.

"Shoo, go do whatever you and your strange friends do."

I shove him lightly In the other direction.

"Okay okay, I'm going i'm going, see you later Jade."

I see people climbing up to the top of the waterfall and lining up on the rocks where a couple of guys are picking them up and throwing them over and down into the water below. It looks fun, so I set my beer on the table and go over to where everyones climbing up.

I get in line, which moves surprisingly quick. Girls screech as they fall into the water below with a splash. I'm surprised they don't pop out of their swim suits, its ridiculous.

I look up to the front of the line to see who's throwing everyone. Its two guys I don't know and three of Ash's friends that I met earlier at lunch. I think they're names were Dean, Josh and Trevor, but I could be wrong, I'm terrible with names.

It's my turn and one of them scoops me up, getting ready to throw me. He pauses,

"Hey, you're Jade right?"

"That would be me, why?"

"I'm Trevor, Ash's friend, we met at lunch."

"Oh yeah, umm, hey...."

Its awkward for a moment, but instead of saying anything else he just throws me. It was really fun, the wind whistling in your ears as you fall, I hug my knees to my chest and splash into the water. The blur of colors easily confused by the human eye are carefully enhanced as I slowly descend into the water. Once I feel my toes dip into the cool water I let out a small squeal.

When I come back up, I'm laughing, actually having fun. There was nothing like this back at home, so I've never done anything like this. So I go back at least five more times, getting thrown and diving in different ways each time.

I get out after being thrown for the seventh time and towel dry a little. I sit in the sun out of the way of everyone and just watch people move about.

Its funny really, how when people get drunk they kinda buzz around lazily like high bee's. But other things are less funny, things I don't really want to see, but I guess its just part of it.

Over in the corner behind a tree are stoned couples, who probably haven't known each other for more than five minutes, making out, but its gross because you can hear them. This small group of especially skanky chicks have attached themselves like leeches to these two guys and are kind of rubbing themselves on them to the beat of the music, again, weird but funny at the same time.

They're all so desperate, its funny, like I couldn't really care less if I have a boyfriend right now or not. But these people, oh no, everything is about reputation and ego, looks and perfectionism, its stupid how hard they try really.
