"Good evening everyone! Are you all enjoying the night so far?"

Tumigil kami sa pagdadaldalan nila Gia nang muling nagsalita ang Emcee sa stage. Bahagyang umingay ang paligid bilang tugon sa tanong niya.

"Well then, let's start the main event!"

Everyone cheered. BIgla akong kinabahan sa 'di ko malamang dahilan. I looked around to see if I'll find anything suspicious. But everyone was so thrilled with the main event. I wonder why I felt nervous all of the sudden?

"As you all know... Our company had a partnership with a charity. Every year, as we celebrate our founding anniversary, we also had an event on which we can raise some funds for the said charity. This year, it will be different..."

Umingay lalo ang paligid dahil sa bulong-bulungan. Taon taon kasi may event ang company on which we auction our best products and sometimes investors donate some amounts. Malalaki naman ang naiipon na pera para sa charity kaya bakit kaya nila iniba?

"Don't worry everyone. It's still an auction." He paused para tingnan ang reaction ng mga guests. "But this time, we will be giving you an opportunity to date our pretty ladies for one night!"

Napailing ako. Who came up with this idea anyway? I can see some men getting excited kaya mas lalong umingay ang paligid.

"But..." The Emcee paused again. Hanging his words purposely for further suspense. He got the guests' attention kaya't tumahimik ang lahat. He smirked upon seeing how attentive everyone is. "Only the bachelors are allowed to bid!"

I rolled my eyes with his statement. Dapat lang! Alangan namang mag bid din ang mga may asawa na diba?! That will cause chaos.

"Now, we asked the gents earlier about who's the prettiest woman for tonight. And these are the eight gorgeous ladies with a high percentage of votes"

I didn't even know they're up for something. Kaya pala may mga ushers kaninang naglilibot. Is thiswhy they took a picture of us right after we enter the hall?

"I'm sure mapapasali ka diyan"

Tamad na nilingon ko si Fei nang nagsalita siya. She had this sure look on her eyes kaya inirapan ko.

"I'm not interested." Sumimangot ako.

"Feel ko rin mapapasama ka sa listahan, Fire" Helen said. "Probably, Gia, too."

Gia snorted. I shrugged my shoulders. Imposible namang mapasama ako diyan. There's a greater chance that Gia will be part of it, but I don't think masasama ako. I just hope I won't. Dahil sa usapan naming magkakaibigan ay hindi ko narinig ang iba pang sinabi ng Emcee. Nabigla nalang kami nang nag-umpisa na siyang mag tawag ng pangalan.

"The first lady on the list is..." May pa drumroll effect pa sila. "Ms. Jella Bafyel!"
