Chapter 11 ~ Caring

Aphmau didn't want to, but she woke up and got ready for school. She went downstairs and saw her mother cooking breakfast. Aphmau just walked past her and sat at the table.

Sylvanna put the plate in front of her with eggs and bacon on it and she sat next to her.

Aphmau ate a few bites and got up to get ready. Aphmau picked up her bookbag and her hoodie and started for the door.

"Aphmau!" Sylvanna stopped her. Aphmau looked back at her. "Aphmau, Mija... I'm sorry.."

Aphmau just into red her and kept on walking out the door to her bus.

"Aphmau, you've been sad all day! What's going on?" Katelyn asked her.

"Nothing... Nothing is wrong... I'm just tired..." Aphmau looked down.

"Aphmau I know that's not all..." Katelyn said.

"I just.. Need time alone!" Aphmau said and ran to the back of the school.

While Aphmau was running Aaron saw her, so he excused himself from the group. And followed her. Aphmau sat with her back against the wall and she curled her legs up to her chest, tears slowly started running down her cheeks.

"Why..." She started crying.

"Huh?" Aaron poked his head around the corner.

"I can't go home.... I can't face her...." Aphmau lifted her hands to take off her hood but before she could Aaron walked up to her.

"Hello?"

"Ah! Uh... What are you doing here?" Aphmau covered up her face and wiped her tears away.

"I could ask you the same thing!" He smiled.

"Heh... I just needed a break from... School.." She smiled too.

"Yeah, don't we all?" Aaron chuckled. He sat down next to her. "So, what were you crying about?"

"What?! I-I wasn't c-crying!" She stuttered.

"Actually, it was kinda obvious.."

"W-What, I... W-Why were you listening?!" Aphmau's eyes widened.

"I saw you running back here, I just wanted to make sure you were okay.." Aaron scotted closer to her. Aphmau's face turned a shade of red.

"Well, I'm fine, thanks for caring..."

"Aaron! Give me that back!!" Aphmau laughed trying to get the pencil that Aaron took. He held the pencil high, taking advantage of her shortness. "Aaron!"

"Hahaha! You got to try!" He laughed. Aphmau jumped forward and pushed Aaron causing him to fall and Aphmau falling on top of him.

"Ah!" They both yelled as they fell.

Aphmau looked up and grabbed her pencil out of his hand.

"Got it!" She shook the pencil. She tried to get up but a force kept her down. She looked back at Aaron, who was looking at her. Aphmau couldn't do anything except to do the same.

"Hey, Aaron have you seen my phone?" A voice called down the hallway.(Which sounded like Lilly's) Aphmau and Aaron quickly stood up before she could see.

"Huh..? Aaron what are you doing with her here?" Lilly looked discussted.

"I just had to get something and he happened to be here, I'll be on my way." Aphmau grabbed her stuff, adjusted her hood and walked towards the door, she looked back at Aaron and smiled.

He smiled back and she left.

"What was that about?" Lilly said grabbing her phone off the table.

"Nothing..." He stared at the door Aphmau left.

Aphmau walked through the door of her house and unpacked her stuff and took off her hood. She stretched out her purple Meif'wa ears and tail. She looked around expecting to see her mother, but she was no where.

This time she wasn't going to go snoop around in her stuff anymore.

"Mom?" She went out in the kitchen where she found a note, it read:

Hey, mija,

I just went out for a little bit, I feel so bad that I didn't tell you sooner. I just went out to get my mind off it for a while.

Aphmau put the note down and sighed.

"I can't believe this is happening..."
