Chapter 16 ~ Mistakes are made

Aphmau's POV

I walk to school, happier than usual. I walk up and see Katelyn, it looks like she's waiting for something?

"Hey Katelyn!" I yell to her. She looks over to me.

"Oh, hey Aphmau!" She said. "I've been waiting for you!"

"Huh? Me? What for?" I ask.

"There is a theater class that we can sign up for! I've always wanted to be in this class! And I was wondering if you wanted to sign up with me?" She said, excited.

Hmm... Didn't Laurance ask me about this? Or was it another class? I remember he ask me about a play...

"I think Laurance asked me about this before? And, Um... I told him I couldn't."

I looked up at her, I saw pure disappointment in her eyes. I felt bad..

"Oh... Well, I guess if Laurance is in the class I won't feel alone." She forced a smile.

Oh, no. Now I feel a hundred times worse.

"Well, nice talking to you! I'll see you in class!" Katelyn said as she walked into the school.

"W-Wait! Katelyn!" She stopped and turned towards me.

"Yeah?"

I paused thinking carefully about what I was going to say next.

"I'll.. Sign up with you..." Her eyes lightened up with joy.

"Really?! Great! Thank you so much Aphmau!" She run up to me scooping me up in a tight hug.

"Hehe... Anything for friend!" I smiled.

I saw Lilly a few times today. But she didn't do anything. She just looked at me and looked away. Hmm... Well, good for me!

"Aphmau!" I heard a familiar voice from behind me. It's Aaron!

"Aaron!" I ran up to him and hugged him. I don't know what's gotten into me but, I feel a lot more comfortable around him.

"Hey, I just wanted to see how you were doing.. When you left you said you're mother was in the hospital, I just felt bad to keep you for that long." He said.

"I'm fine... The doctors said she's be out in one more week! They just need to run a few more tests. But.. The bad thing is she'll need to have a IV in her for a month when she gets out." I sigh, remembering when they told me that.

"Oh, well, I'm sorry about that."

"Don't be... It wasn't your fault..." Now that I think of it I have no idea what happened, the doctors never told me.

"Ooh, Aaron~" I recognized that voice to be Lilly's. "Oh, Hey, Pota-- I mean, Aphmau... Hey Aphmau!" She smiled

She came up behind Aaron and swung her arms around his shoulders.

I gulp, I didn't know what to do, she told me if I got anywhere near Aaron she would tell everyone I was a Meif'wa!

"Why do you look so nervous Aphmau? Are you okay?" She asked, I could tell she didn't really care. She just acted like this around Aaron.

She's so fake

"Um, yeah, sorry I was just thinking..."

"So what were you two talking about?" She swings her head sideways.

"Uh, just... Catching up, We haven't seen each other in awhile." Aaron said.

I quickly nod.

"Oh really? Can I join in?" Lilly said, I know what she's doing.... And it's really annoying Aaron and I.

We stood in silence for a few seconds, then Aaron cleared his throat and spoke out.

"So, Aphmau, did you sign up for any clubs or sports?" I could sense he was very uncomfortable, and to be honest, I was too.

"Um, yeah... I signed up for theater." 

"Oh, cool." I saw Lilly's eyes light up... She just thought of something. But what?

"Yeah! That's really cool...! Um, I should be going now! See ya later hun!" She turned towards Aaron and blew him a kiss.

He just stood there, very uncomfortable. He just sighs and shakes his head.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"It's obvious she just likes me so she can become popular.. Can you see it?" He said gesturing to the hallway she just left in.

"Yeah, I see it." I shake my head.

"Well, I have to go, see you later," He waved goodbye as we both walked our ways.

I just signed up for theater with Katelyn, she's so excited. I can see it in her eyes.

This is going to be interesting... I don't know how this is going to work.. Maybe I can be a character that is covered up all the time? Actually, I would depend what play it is...
