Like a Grape (Shidge AU) [Book 1]

Chapter Six

**Keep in mind, in this book, Shiro was born in 2016 and Katie and Matt were born 2019, making the current date 2037.**

After probably a couple of hours sleeping cuddled  up next to her brother. She woke up again. It was cold in the cave and they had no blanket. And if Pidge remembered correctly, with the positions of the two suns, there shouldn't be a technical night. Well, once in every five years at least.

Since she couldn't take the coldness any longer, she decided to go outside for some heat, but as if the natures of the universe wanted to mock her, she was stranded on this planet, the exact time it stroke night. No wonder it was awfully cold in the cave.

She went back to her brother concluding that they would be have to be each others heat source through the three day night, that was happening.

She started to feel her body shiver as she arrived back at the spot she left Matt. He was awake.

He noticed her shivering. "You know, if you are so cold, you should go out side. It should always be day time." Matt stated.

"Yeah, except for this planet goes through a three day night once every five years, and we so happen to be here there during then."

"Shoot." Matt muttered.

Pidge gave her brother a hug, mostly for some heat. "Looks like we better find out how to contact Voltron quicker than we thought."

Shiro sat down on his bed as he opened the journal to a random page.

September 26th, 2029.

Dear Journal,

FOURTH GRADE IS BORING!!!

I loved homeschooling way better, but both mom and dad ended up being busy. So, now I am stuck in a school that is trying to kill me.

And to make thing worst, Takashi broke the laptop I was trying to fix!

Than memories came flowing back.

"Come outside and play, Katie." Thirteen year old Shiro said as he barged into her room.

"Takashi! Knock first!" Katie complained as she paused on fixing the old laptop she found the other day.

Shiro than knock on the already opened door, as if to mock her.

Katie grunted as she said. "What do you want!?"

"Come outside and play with me and Matt!" Shiro practically begged. "Please!"

"No! I hate the outdoors! And I am working on this." Katie said as she refocused herself on finishing her project.

Shiro than had the bright idea to "Remove of the distraction". He snuck up behind Katie as he grabbed the laptop right over her head. He quickly bolted out of the room and was heading for outside.

That is until he reach the stairs.

He started to go down, until slipped and ended up falling all the way down the stairs, and broke his leg. At the time he didn't know, but he was sure in a lot of pain.

Katie than gasped as she witnessed what happened. "Takashi!" She said as she bolted down the stairs with a worried look on her face. Once she reach the bottom, she immediately grabbed the broken pieces of the laptop. "It's beyond repair now!"
