Shiro couldn't wait to talk to her again the next day. He had always looked forward to talking to her, but this time, the excitement was higher.

It was so high, he wanted to talk to her as soon as he could, so he went to go to her room an hour early. Luckily, everyone was already in bed.

He walked down the hall and stopped in front of Pidge's door and knocked.

"You are early today." Pidge spoke. She was talking to him more. Maybe, they would have an actual conversation than just Shiro.

"How do you know?" Shiro asked.

"I have a watch. For the past month, you came around ten, every night. I kept track." Pidge informed.

"Well, everyone went to bed early, so I thought I would talk to you early."

"Thank you, but it's not like it effects me. I'm not going anywhere, and if I remember correctly, I don't have any thing planned for who knows how long." Pidge laughed.

Her laugh. How how he missed that.

"Well, I guess that doesn't matter. I'm here now." Shiro laughed back. "You know what confused me?"

"What?" Pidge asked.

"As a child, you said you thought that everyone should go by their real first, because it would make things so much easier." Shiro mentioned.

"Yeah."

"Well, even when we found out who you really were, you still went by Pidge. I mean, I don't think Pidge is an awful name or any--"

"I lied." Pidge interrupted.

"You what?" Shiro questioned. "What do you mean you lied?"

"I mean, I lied. If you think about it, I always called Matt, well Matt, even though his real name is Matthew." Pidge explained.

Shiro pause for a moment. "Oh. I didn't think about that. Than why did you always call me Takashi?"

"It was an excuse. I loved your name, it was so... How do I put it? Your name was so... Perfect."

"Really?"

"Yeah! I was an amazing name. Takashi Shirogane. I loved how it rolled off my tongue. I always wanted to ask your parents how they thought of such a wonderful name. What I said was an excuse to say your real name, or at least half of it." Pidge explained.

"I thought you hated me?" Shiro questioned as he sat down and leaned against her door.

"Yeah, I hated you. No, I loathed you. See I loved the name, not the person with the name. Do you understand?"

"Well, sort of."

"How can I put it?" Pidge said as she stroked her chin. She was never good at explaning things, but maybe she could use an analogy. "I mean, it's kind of like a fruit, or a grape. Yeah, like a grape."

"A grape?" Shiro asked. Where the heck was this going?

"Shh. Just listen, I'll explain." Pidge said. "Well, so let's say you find some grapes on a grape vine for the first time. Well, you find the smell of the grapes very pleasing, but when you tried the grape, it was sour and bitter. Because of that, you swear that you would never try a grape again, but sometimes you would you come back just to smell the grapes. But later, when you come back again, you can't seem to find the grapes. So, than when you find them again, you decide to give them a try again, and well, they aren't like you first remebered. They are sweet and delicious, and you realize that you just needed to give time for the grapes to ripen." Pidge explained.

"So, I am a grape?"

"Well, I mean if you don't like grapes, it could--"

"No, grapes are fine." Shiro smiled. "You know, you are kind of like a grape, too, except you took a lot less time to ripen. Either that or I just really like sour and bitter grapes."

Immediately, Pidge's face grew red. Did he just confess to her? No, he ment as a friend. Yeah, that's what he ment.

Shiro's eyes widened, as he realized he acidentally confessed to her. Maybe, she didn't realize it. Maybe, she just thought he was just talking about as friends.

Pidge pulled her legs closer as she rested her head against the door, as a tear fell down her face. "But Shiro, I am a moldy grape, now." She sighed. "It's better if you just throw me away."

"No, Katie!" Shiro quickly said. "You aren't moldy, you just have dirt or dust on you. We just need to wash you off."

"Shiro." She started to cry. "I have been infected from the inside out. There is no use. I am a lost cause."

"You're not a lost cause!" Shiro defended as he stood up.

All he got in response was Pidge's sobbing. So he decided to do what he wished he did many weeks earlier.

He started to type in the password to her room. He had to see her again.

Pidge heard the beeping coming from the keypad, and said, "I'm not telling you my pass--"

The door opened.

She back away for at first the light had blinded her, but than she saw him. Shiro. He knelt down to her level and then wiped her tears.

"Katie..." Shiro sighed.

Immediately, Pidge gave him a hug as she just cried harder. "I don't know what to do, Takashi." She cried in his firm chest.

Shiro hugged her back as he brushed her hair with his fingers. He didn't want to let her go.

Pidge relaxed as she heard the steady beat of Shiro's heart. Just like the dream, it was so comforting, so calming.

"Takashi?" Pidge asked.

"Hm?" Shiro hummed.

"Don't leave me alone." She whispered.

Shiro just held her tighter. Oh, how he missed her pressence.

Once she fell asleep, he picked her up bridal style and carried her to her bed. He pulled the covers over her as he kissed her forehead. "Goodnight" he whispered. Than he left for his room.

Oh, how he loved her.
