That dream had came back in Pidge's sleep every so often. It was as if someone had been trying to tell her something, but she couldn't place a finger on it. It wouldn't come every night, just once every three to five days, the same dream would play.
But other than trying to find out what the dream ment, she did something else. She had always looked forward to Shiro's visit.
He would come around ten every night and just talk. Day after day, he would come and talk, but she would never respond. For all he knew, she could be sleeping every time he came.
But she wasn't. She would sit by her door and listen to his calm and soothing voice. It gave her a sense of peace. A sense of home.
Every time he would talk about what had happened that day, and end with the same phrase: "We miss you Pidge. I hope you know that." Than he would say something around the lines of "I got to go to bed now," or "See you tomorrow."
For about a month he did this, even though she didn't say anything back. But what he didn't know, that it was lifting her spirit every time, every day.
---
There is was, the dream again, she was in the dark room wondering. "Hello?" She called, but this time her voice seemed deeper, more mature, than her last dreams.
"Is anyone there?" She called louder.
Again, the overwhelming feeling of sadness washed over her.
"Anyone? I'm lost." She begged. It felt so much more real than the last dreams. It was kind of as if it was how she was now in the real world. She was lost. She didn't know what to do.
"Please!" She started to sob. She fell to her knees just like the last ones, and buried her face in her hands.
Than just like the other dreams, she felt the hand on her shoulder, but this time, the hand was bigger and more firm.
She opened her eyes to see the same forest, and the same lake, but when she looked down, instead of the eight year old child, it was her now, eighteen years old with the scars the Galra had given her.
And beside her wasn't the black haired lady, it was Shiro. Shiro was standing beside her.
"Dear, are you okay little missy?" He said compassionately.
"N-no..." Pidge sobbed. "I l-lost my fa-family... T-They are g-gone..." Than it hit her. She did lose her family, but this time, they were gone forever and she wouldn't be able find them again.
Shiro knelt down to her level with a genuine smile on his face, as he wiped her tears away. He than pulled her in a hug. "Sweetie. Let me help you."
She could hear his heart beat as she laid her head on his chest. Just like the woman, it calmed her troubled heart.
"I bring you back home."
She woke up from the dream, as she realized that, Shiro was talking to her everyday, to comfort her. To bring her peace. He was bringing her back home after she lost everything.
Home was no longer in Albano, Texas. Home was with her team. They were there for her when she was lost. When she needed help.
Shiro, was there for her.
She than looked at her glow in the dark watch: 10:07 pm. And there it was.
Shiro's knock.
He came and talked about how Keith and Lance had a dueling match, and Lance won. Keith had tried to argue that Lance cheated, but in reality, Keith was tired from previous training. He was just butt hurt about being beaten.
He talked about some other things, but his last phrase stuck out a lot, "We miss you Pidge. I hope you know that."
He had said that many times before, but just now, it held a different meaning in her heart.
They missed her.
Almost like when she missed Matt or her father.
"Well, I have to go. Goodnight, Pidge." Shiro said as he got up, but than he was very surprise, when he, for the first time in forever, heard Pidge's voice.
"Goodnight, Shiro. See you tomorrow."
It pierced through his heart. She finally talked back. Not only that, her voice confirmed that she had been listen the whole time.
He just stood there. He was overwhelmed with joy. She actually talked to him.
He finally got to hear the sweet voice he missed so dearly. She was opening up again.
