🌑Joshua's Point of View🌑

minor editing

today was a normal day. i spent it relaxing, i met with tyler for a while, and stopped by my parents' house. when i finally got home that night, i felt strange. normally at this time I would plop down on the couch and play a game or go drum in my room, but no, tonight something was different. Something was pulling my outside, so much so that i couldnt ignore it any longer. I gave in.

it was a normal late spring day in Columbus, warm but not enough to break a sweat, cloudy but not so cloudy that you couldn't see the moon in the sky. I tied my camo bomber jacket around my waist, fixing my hair a bit before placing a snapback backwards on my head, then grabbed my skateboard and walked to the front door, making sure it was locked before I walked out the door to the garage. I hopped in my car and threw my skateboard on the passenger seat before backing out of my driveway.

The park was five minutes away by car, and I pulled in to the parking lot at 10:02. I parked my car and grabbed my skateboard before stepping out of the car and dropping it on the ground. I closed the door and locked it, stepping onto my board and riding through the empty parking lot to the path leading through the park.

I zoomed around the park, admiring the moon as it shone through the leaves in the trees and the stars that sprinkled around it. I was glad I decided to go out tonight, I really enjoyed myself and hoped the moon would forget to go down.

Hopping off my skateboard, I began to walk around the park, looking for a hill to lay on when I heard it; words dancing in the warm winds in the night, sung with such desperation- desperation that I'd only heard coming out of one other person's mouth.

"I'm a goner, somebody catch my breath." I knew this song all too well, I remembered when Tyler wrote it, I can see him singing it with the black paint on his hands and neck now, banging away at the piano on stage, sweat pouring off of his face and he screamed into a mic.

"I want to be known by you," part of me wanted to find where the singing was coming from, part of me thought i should leave them to their business.

I walked around in the night for a couple minutes and the singing grew louder until the voice was raised to screaming.

"DON'T LET ME BE!" and I looked up to see someone running down the path, tears streaming down her face, eyes closed, ear buds plugged in her ears, mouth opened. But i saw her too late, she couldnt see me, and we collided, dropping my skate board as I grabbed the shaking body that just rammed in to me, hugging her close to me as we fell so that they landed on top of me, I didn't want them to be any more hurt than they are already.
