🌔Chapter 18.1🌔

Okay guys im sorry but starting from this chapter im user she/her pronouns because it was hard to write using they/them pronouns.

~josh's pov~

"josh, you didn't get the games and blanket!" I heard tyler shout from the house and I jumped out of the car as fast as I could. I want this to be perfect, I cant forget anything. y/n was one of the best things that had ever happened to me and I couldn't lose her. I ran into the house and shoved past tyler, who almost dropped the box of lanterns, and to the cabinet where I kept my games. I grabbed uno and regular playing cards as well as some other random board games like Sorry! and twister in case she wanted to shake it up a bit and the blanket as I passed the couch, then stumbled back to the car with boxes in hand and threw them in the back seat. Tyler was waiting patiently in his car parked behind me in the driveway with the boxes next to him and once i was settled he pulled down the driveway and towards the park.

~time skip to about 1~

Tyler and I spent 2 hours setting up the clearing, we hung the lights and lanterns from the trees and wrapped the trunks in the streamers. I set up a picnic table with the pancakes and put some flowers in the center while tyler went to get the pizza. I took more bundles of flowers and scattered them around the clearing and hung more streamers from the trees. I began to think about how things would go and how extra this was, but she was worth it, I wanted to make her know that she's special.

I spread the blanket out on the ground and put the board games on top of it before going around and turning all the lanterns on and plugging the lights into the extension cords running to the middle of the park.

Tyler came back at 1:30 and we put the pizzas and soda on the table and realized we didn't have plates and napkins.

"shoot tyler, what are we gonna eat off of? We need cups" I frantically pace around the perimeter of the clearing, streamers and lanterns bouncing around my head in the breeze. "dude don't worry let's go to the store, I'll drive you there." Tyler said grabbing my arm and tugging me to his car.

~y/n pov~

"hey, y/bf/n you should come over and help me get ready!" I laugh into the phone. It's 1:00 now and josh would be here in two hours and I still had no idea what I was gonna wear. "I'm already out the door y/n, I'll be there in 10."

"okay, doors unlocked see you soo--" she hung up right after that, cutting me off.

I sighed and walked into my closet, running my fingers through my clothes, what do I wear, he said dress casually, so I ruled out skirts and dresses. I was lost in thought about what may happen later that day when I heard loud footsteps thumping up the stairs and y/bn/n walked through the door. "hey girl! Let's find some clothes for you!" she said, wrapping me in a tight hug before turning to all the clothes. "okay you go sit on your bed, im gonna work my magic." She shooed me out of the closet (a/n me) and I plopped down on the bed.

In a few minutes, she came out with the first outfit. "okay so this is pretty casual," she said as she handed me a wine tie-dyed over-sized t-shirt and dark skinny jeans, cream sperry canvas shoes, and a grey hoodie with two white stripes on each sleeve and some aviator sunglasses.

"now let me look for more," she said, spinning on her heel and disappearing into the closet again (y/n also me.)

I laid back on my bed and scrolled through my phone when y/bf/n sauntered out again holding more clothes. "okay this one is nice too.," she said as she set the outfit out on my bed. She gave me a white tank top to wear under a black, white, and red flannel and ripped black skinny jeans. She also handed me a burgundy hat with a white rose on the front as well and matching low top converse.

I nodded at her and stood up, taking a look at the outfits she had already. "hey, um y/bf/n just get one more out. If you give me more than three I'll never make up my mind," I called to her and laughed. I heard her chuckle along with me, "that's just like you." I rolled my eyes and sat back down and listened to y/bf/n rummage through the closet.

"okay!!" she exclaims and runs out of the closet. "last one." She handed me a teal sweater with matching high top converse, grey skinny jeans and classic sunglasses. "let me decide what I want to wear." I lay the outfits flat out on the floor in front of my bed and look between them.

After a few minutes I spoke up, "I think I'll wear the first one with the hat from the second one." I grabbed up the clothes and changed out of my sweats. I looked at my phone, "2:00, we spent an hour on this, he's gonna be here in an hour. I still wonder what we're doing."

"well whatever it is you better tell me how it goes. Do you want me to do your makeup?" I thought for a minute, "eh, I guess just some eyeliner, nothing special." y/bf/n needed no more, she ran back into the closet to get my makeup as I sat on the bed. She sauntered out with eyeliner and mascara and stood in front of me, leaning down to my height. She applied a simple winged line and mascara.

"there you go hun," she stepped back and smiled, screwing the cap on the mascara. "thanks y/bf/n, what do we do now, we have 45 minutes till he gets here?" I stood up and sighed.

"let's look at pictures, shall we? You said you took a lot with him" y/bf/n said as we walked downstairs to the living room and plopped down on the couch.

"well I mean that's true but where do you want to start?" I asked her, looking over at her.

"the beginning," she replied.
