"So he cheated on her huh?" I heard Mitch and Steph talking when I woke up in the morning. He must have stayed over.
"Yeah and I think she's really upset about it. So Auston that means you should try being nice to her for today!" Steph demanded
Great, Auston was here too. Just what I needed.
I put on a pair of Nike pros and a cropped black sweater and my slippers. My hair was up in a messy bun and I had no makeup on, honestly I was a mess.
I walked into the kitchen where the 3 of them were.
"Morning babes!" Steph said sweetly, handing me a cup of coffee
"Morning." I said tiredly, making eye contact with Auston and rolling my eyes dramatically
Nobody really said much for a while until Steph spoke up again.
"'Mitchy and I are gonna be leaving until Sunday, just before hockey season really starts back up again we wanted to get away." She looked at me.
"Okay? I'm not your mom I can't tell you yes or no." I laughed a little.
"We asked Auston to stay here with you, to keep you company and stuff since you're going through a lot right now. He agreed to stay." Mitch smiled at me sweetly.
"No way, definitely not. I'll be just fine all by myself." My stone cold expression didn't quite get the message across.
"Too bad. My shit is already here and I'm not taking it all the way back. This is for you, not for me. Appreciate it." Auston said sassily.
"K then. I'm going to take a shower now." I rolled my eyes again and left the kitchen.
Why did they think I needed Auston to stay with me? Like a babysitter or something? I'm going through a breakup because I was cheated on. People do it all the time. I would be just fine without Austons constant rude comments and nagging. But no. He's here. And he's staying.
I showered and got cleaned up, I threw on a basic pair of ripped blue jeans and a white top with with converse.
I walked back to where everyone was and Mitch and Steph were just on their way out the door. I gave them both a hug, but also a glare that let them know I wasn't happy with their decision to leave me here with Auston.
"Looks like it's just us for a few days." Auston sounded particularly frustrated with it and walked into the living room and switched on the tv.
He and I sat at opposite ends of the room and watched hockey highlights together. I ended up drifting off in the chair.
I woke up to the sound of something dropping in the kitchen.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" I yelled groggily.
"Making myself something to eat! What the fuck are you doing?" I heard Auston reply.
I groaned and went to my room. I decided that instead of staying here all night with him, I was going out to go drinking and to meet some people. I didn't have many friends in Toronto, so I figured I would just go myself.
I did my makeup, putting on false lashes and foundation. Contouring and highlighting until I looked like a goddess. I put on faux leather leggings with a mesh body suit and a black bralette underneath and black thigh high boots. I left my long brown hair straight and down.
"Bye." I popped into the living room where Auston was before leaving.
"Where are you going?!" He asked, suddenly sounding concerned.
"Out!" I said while shutting the door behind me.
I made it to my favourite place to drink and walked up to the bar. First I just ordered a gin and juice, and then another one, and another one. Before I knew it I was slamming tequila shots with someone who seemed to be at least 10 years older than me.
I heard my phone ding.
Auston Matthews
"Where are you it's 2 in the morning?"
"(Y/N)??"
"Okay I'm coming to find you then."
"This isn't funny where are you?"Me
"I'm fine! I'm at my favourite place but I'm guessing you don't know where exactly that is."I regretted sending that because he could easily just ask Steph where it was. I paid my tab and quickly walked out into the brisk Toronto morning. I was shivering within 2 minutes, I called a cab and waited for it. Some guy came up to me and he was being extremely weird. I didn't like where this was going.
"Come for a walk with me pretty lady." Were the first words that came from this mans mouth.
"No sorry, I have someone coming for me." I said, trying to sound uninterested
"Come with me." The man demanded, he was starting to scare me.
"I have somebody coming for me right now so if you don't leave me the fuck alone you're going to get punched in the fucking face!" I said angrily.
"(Y/N)!" I heard Auston yell from behind me
I internally groaned that it was Auston coming to my rescue but at least he found me. This could have ended up a lot worse.
I began walking towards him quickly, leaving the man standing there. I was shivering quite a lot but I just wanted to get home quickly.
"Here take this." Auston slipped off his jacket and handed it to me.
"No thank you." I shivered some more.
"(Y/N), you're shivering. Just take it." He insisted
I snatched the coat out of his hands and put it in. It was really quite big on me and my nose was instantly filled with the smell of Austons cologne.
"That's why you shouldn't be going out by yourself at night in Toronto. I won't always be there to come save you." He said, acting like he saved my life.
"I could have handled that myself." I grumbled out.
The rest of the walk back was silent. I could tell Auston was mad. When we reached the apartment I took off his coat and quickly thanked him for letting me wear it. I was about to go to my room but I heard Auston say something.
"What?" I asked
He just looked at me with anger slowly flooding his eyes.
"Sorry I just didn't hear what you said." I said quietly.
"Nothing." He walked swiftly past me and I just went to bed.
Nothing more was exchanged between us, no words, no looks, nothing.
