Chapter 28

My siblings and I were all going home for 4 days to see each other one last time before the babies come. It was a short notice thing and I was leaving this evening. I was sad, I wanted Auston to come but he couldn't with his schedule. I guess it's okay though, because my sister Marlie won't be bringing her husband either, he's busy with NFL stuff.

I was packing my bags and sulking in my room when Auston came in and interrupted me.

"Let's go get lunch somewhere!" He said cheekily

"Okay give me like 5 minutes to finish packing my bag and we'll go!" I grinned at him.

He took me to a cute Italian place, they served great pizza, I got my usual, BBQ chicken pizza.

We sat there and talked, I could tell Auston was sad, I was sad too.

"Hey, its only 4 days and you'll be right back in my arms." He said sadly.

"Don't worry babe, it'll go by so quickly it'll be like I wasn't even gone." I patted his hand sweetly

For the rest of the day we laid in bed cuddling, just enjoying each other's company. He was so sweet, I love Auston so much. I haven't told him since we admitted we loved each other, but I figured I would tell him before I left.

"You know, I didn't realize just how much I'm gonna miss you until now." Auston admitted

My eyes started to get glossy, and I could feel tears coming on.

He pulled my face into his chest and let me cry, and I cried a lot. The last time I left my boyfriend for a trip he cheated on me. I know Auston isn't Justin but Justin gave me trust issues that I need to overcome.

Auston drove me to the airport, it was a pretty quiet ride, we held hands and listened to drake quietly. I was sad, in fact I was pouring. I know it's only 4 days and I was making a huge deal out of it but still! 4 days without Auston is a long time.

"Stop pouting beautiful. It'll be over before you know it." Auston said as we pulled into the parking lot at the airport. He grabbed my luggage for me and walked into the airport.

We hugged for an eternity and kissed each other many times. He even let me take his hoodie with me so I had that which was nice. I gave him my necklace with my first initial on it and he put it in his pocket.

"I love you Aus." I said, hugging him once more

"I love you too (Y/N)." He said, and we walked away from each other. I was holding back tears and I imagined Auston was too.

Waiting to board the plane was hell, and the ride was 4 hours, going back to Calgary. Apparently there was a strong head wind tonight too which means that the plane will have to be pushing against the wind, so our flight will probably take even longer.

I got Starbucks, a venti iced caramel macchiato, my favourite. And a Santa Fe flatbread sandwich, because I was a little hungry and I needed the energy.

I was waiting to board when a teenaged girl came up to me, she was so excited.

"Oh my god! You're Auston Matthews girlfriend! You're so pretty I watch your videos all the time I love you so much!" She exclaimed, and I hugged her

We took a couple selfies and talked for about 5 minutes but then it was time for me to get on the plane. I thanked her for being a fan and told her that I hoped to see her again. That wasn't even a lie, she was the sweetest person I've ever met in my life.

The flight to Calgary sucked, there was turbulence and the people around me were bitching the whole time. I had to order wine and treats to make the best of my flight.

When I finally landed in Calgary I texted Auston to let him know I was here. It was about 11pm back in Toronto but 9pm here.

I found my sister Jennika waiting for me at baggage claim and I pulled her into a huge hug, it was like I hadn't seen her in decades. Her boyfriend Tyler was there too.

"Hey kid, long time no see!" Tyler pulled me into a side hug, he was pretty much an older brother to me, I mean I've known him since I was 13 years old.

We got to the hotel we were all staying at, the fairmont palliser downtown. It was a gorgeous hotel, I loved it.

I was exhausted and we all went to bed when we got to the hotel.
