I told my boyfriend Justin that I wouldn't be home from Australia until Friday, but it was only Wednesday and I was on my way over to his apartment to surprise him. I've been gone for just over 2 weeks and I was so excited to finally see him again.
I took a breath before I knocked on his apartment door 3 times.
Knock-knock-knock
Justin opened the door hesitantly, but once he saw me he smiled and pulled me into a tight hug.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, chucking nervously
"Well I wanted to surprise you... so here I am!" I smiled largely, waiting for a response
"Justin darling!" I saw a blonde young woman stick her head around the corner
I furrowed my brows at my boyfriend and waited for someone to say something, I was shocked.
The blondes eyes were wide, she seemed just as surprised as me.
"(Y/N), I can explain... just wait." He said frantically
"Save it! Go fuck your new girlfriend!" I told him furiously and made my way to my car, slamming his door shut on my way out.
On my way home to my apartment that I shared with my best friend Steph, I cried and I got angry. But I didn't want her to think something was wrong and I wanted to be happy for when I saw her.
I walked into my apartment with my luggage, hearing muffled voices from the living room.
"Stephy!" I called in a sing-song voice
I heard someone come running
"(Y/N)! Oh my god! I'm so excited to see you!" She exclaimed as she pulled me into a big hug and we both walked back into the living room.
"How was Australia? How were your parents? I'm sure they were glad to see you!" She was blabbing on, I was happy to see her too though.
She had her boyfriend Mitch over and his best friend Auston, they were all watching the movie Goon. Of course, a hockey movie, what did I expect with these two anyways. I internally groaned when I remembered just how rude Auston always was to me. I don't know what I did to him, or why he was cruel. He was nice to everybody else but me, it made no sense, it made me sad too.
"Hey Mitch!" I said happily as we walked into the living room
Auston and I made eye contact for a split second but I decided it was better if I didn't say anything to him, I sent a small smile, he just grunted and looked away, back at the movie.
"Wait... I thought your plan for when you came home was to go to Justin's and surprise him?" Steph wiggled her eyebrows at me in confusion
I let out a big sigh, trying to conjure up the words to explain what happened, but I didn't want to do it in front of everyone.
"Yeah. Well, that's over. It's cancelled now, so." I said, sounding particularly annoyed and pushing my lips tightly together, forming a straight line.
"What do you mean?" She asked sounding concerned, the boys were eavesdropping on the conversation we were having, I could tell.
"Nothing." I said, I felt my eyes well up with tears and stormed off to my bedroom.
"What's her problem?" I heard Auston scoff.
Whatever.
I heard someone open my door. It was Steph.
"Hey sweetie, what's wrong?" She asked, shutting the door behind her.
I looked up at her with tears streaming down my face.
"I went there to surprise him." I admitted sadly
"And...?" She asked instantly sounding aggravated
"There was another girl there!" I sobbed and she brought me into a hug.
"Oh (y/n), it's going to be okay! He's not even close to being in your league and he never will be, you deserve someone way better!" She exclaimed, smoothing my hair with her hand. I knew she was just trying to be nice, but it really hurts, because I didn't think I'd find someone better.
I sniffled my nose and tried to convince her I would be fine, but just then my phone started ringing, it was Justin. I didn't want to pick it up but Steph had other plans.
"Wait! Don't pick it up just yet, wait till he calls again and I'll see if one of the boys will agree to my plan!" Steph exclaimed quickly before running to where the boys were.
I didn't really want them knowing what was going on anyways so I was embarrassed when she said she was going to grab them.
A couple minutes later Steph and Auston walked in my room. When he saw me and that I had been crying he rolled his eyes at me.
"What's he doing in here?" I asked quietly.
"Auston is here to help the situation." Steph said simply, like it wasn't going to be a problem.
I groaned.
"Oh shut up I'm only here because Mitch told me he would buy me food if I did this." Auston said, sounding extremely annoyed.
"So here's the scenario. You and Auston are going to make it sound like you're having the greatest sex ever when I answer the phone and tell him that you're busy at the moment but you will get back to him." She said with an evil smile growing across her face.
"No way Stephanie! Absolutely not!" I completely disagreed with her idea, but it was too late because Justin was already calling me again.
"Okay guys on the count of three!"
One
Two
Three
"Fuck me harder daddy!" I exclaimed seductively trying not to laugh
"Oh my god (y/n) I'm about to cum!" Auston was actually really into it surprisingly and I was on the verge of giggles at this point.
"Hi Justin, this is Steph Lachance here, (y/n) is currently busy but she will try to get back to you within one to two business days. She's having a lot of fun at the moment." She hung up the phone before Justin could say another word.
"Thank god that is over with, I never wanted those words to come out of my mouth. But if it's for free food then why not!" Auston smirked sarcastically at me before leaving my room.
I rolled my eyes at him and tried mocking him, but he shut the door too fast.
"Thanks Steph." I said before laying back down and shutting my eyes to go to sleep, I just wanted today to be over with.
