Chapter Three; My First Kiss
Ginnie Matthew
During recess, I did what I always did: fixed my hair in the bathroom, found a nice quiet corner, put in my earbuds, and listened to music. I sat down behind a huge tree and found a loud rock song. That's probably why I didn't notice him come up from behind. I jumped when I finally heard him. "Hey," he said in his raspy voice that was possibly meant to sound mysterious.
I took out an earbud. "Do you hate me?" I asked.
A look of genuine confusion spread across his face. "No-" he started to say but I cut him off.
"Then why do you always make fun of me. Is it some sort of joke that you have with your friends?" I questioned.
The air outside was getting warmer, but was still haunted by the cool breezes that followed after Autumn.
"No, Ginnie, I actually, truly, like you." he almost laughed. The left side of his lips started tugging up into a sort of a half smile.
"Prove it," I crossed my arms.
Prove it? Nice one, Ginnie. You sound like a spoiled five year old!
His face suddenly got serious, like he was debating something in his head. Then before anything else was said, he leaned forwards and planted a kiss, right on my lips. Whoa, I did not see this coming. I blinked and then put a firm hand on his chest. I pushed him off me and scooted backwards.
"Ginnie, wait-" he said.
"What was that for?!" I yelled, still scurrying backwards.
"I- I'm sorry." He looked down.
I just shook my head and ran away.
A/N: wow that was fun! Keep reading, it gets better :)
