Chapter Fifty One; It's Driving Me Insane, Bro

Oliver Newman

A/N: hey guys! Sorry for the long wait, but you know how summer is! Busy, busy, busy. Anyways, here's a new Oliver chapter for you all! I don't have much to say so just enjoy!

"Ever since last week when Ms. Bates moved me next to Paige, Paige has literally been ALL OVER ME. I mean at this point, I'm seriously considering asking Ms. Bates to move me next to freaking Monique so that I don't have to play another game of footsie with Paige. And by footsie, I mean her nudging my feet repeatedly while I hide them behind the desk hoping she might eventfully just take the hint that I am NOT INTERESTED. AT ALL. Also, she thinks me and Jess are still dating. I guess nobody ever told her, but if she asks me if Jess is a good kisser or how much I like Jess on a scale of 1 to 10 one more time I just might scream. She's making it pretty obvious that she has a crush on me but seriously? Does she actually need to act like this. It's driving me insane, bro," I complained to Tyler as we walked down the hall to the cafeteria after another lovely class with Ms. Bates and Princess Paige.

Did I mention she asked me to call her that?

"And every other word out of her mouth is popular or pretty or fabulous! Remember when she was nice? And we were all friends? That Paige maybe had a chance with me, and Tanner had had a freaking crush on her in the 5th grade! But now, she's like a freaking copy of Denise. She talked to me for twenty minutes about how she wants her name to be changed to Renee because it sounds more like Denise and Olivia's names," I continued ranting.

Tyler laughed. "Seriously? I hate to say it, but she sounds kinda psychotic."

"Really? I hadn't noticed," I huffed.

Tyler laughed again at my annoyance.

Today, I was kind of excited for lunch, and kind of nervous, because Bailey had this grand idea where today, Bailey, Ginnie, JESSICA, Tyler, Tanner, and I would all sit together at a table. It made sense... It just wasn't something we usually did.

At first, Tyler and I didn't want to go but Tanner promised Bailey he would convince us. He's been extra excited lately about their relationship because tomorrow they're going to a carnival on a date together.

I'd make fun of him for it, except it's not like I would have the balls to ask Jessica on a date. Finally, Tyler and I reached the cafeteria and stepped through the heavy metal doors, which were kept open by a little wooden block wedged in it. Slowly, we made our way over to where Ginnie, Jessica, Tanner, and Bailey were sitting. Tanner looked completely relieved to see us, and Bailey looked super proud. Jessica just looked kind of uncomfortable, and Ginnie looked embarrassed. "Okay, so... Let's eat!" Paige instructed us. Tyler sat next to Ginnie, and I sat next to him, directly across the circular table from Jessica. "Hey," I smiled at her.

"Uh, hi," she looked confused.

When she didn't think I was looking -which I was of course like the lame, obsessed stalker I am when it comes to her- she looked at Ginnie questioningly, and Ginnie just shrugged at her and then turned back to Tyler. Jessica turned again to face me, and I smiled at her.

Dude, stop smiling, you're gonna creep her out!

"Sooo... What's up?" I asked.

Smooth, Oliver.

"Just you know trying to eat my lunch," she motioned to the food in front of her.

"You know I think I might just do that too. Not your lunch though, like, I mean my lunch. I'm just gonna eat my lunch now... Because it's lunch time..." I rambled, and internally scolded myself for being such a loser.

I don't get why this was happening! I was normally so great with words!

Just then, Jessica bursted out laughing, really, really loudly and I could feel my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "Sorry.. Sorry.." She kept apologizing between laughs.

"What's so funny?" I finally asked her, a little annoyed.

"Look, you obviously want to talk, and I'm guessing not about lunch, so where do you want to go?" She asked.

"Go?" I repeated.

"Yah, to talk. Where do you wanna talk?" She clarified.

"Oh..um... Hallway," I mumbled and got up and started walking to the hallway.

When I got to the doors, I turned around and saw she was following me, so I walked outside and to the end of the hallway, trying to figure out what I wanted to say.
