Chapter Forty Three; Janitor's Closet

Ginnie Matthews

I was sitting in the cafeteria with Jessica when Bailey dismissed herself to get print some papers for a project she's doing with Jessica. I looked around the cafeteria and spotted Oliver staring in my direction. I turned around to see if there was anyone behind me and saw Angela Crown, captain of the cheer-squad. She also happened to be a senior. No offense Oliver, but she's kinda out of your league. I looked to the left of Oliver and saw Tyler. Of course, he looked perfect. He shook his hair ur of his face and looked up. I watched frozen as he looked and saw me staring at him. I blushed and he smiled at me. When I was about to avert my gaze, I saw him nodding his head toward the door. Did he want to talk to me outside? "Hey Jess, I think I'm gonna go to the nurse's office. I'm not feeling too well," I whispered to Jessica.

"Awwww feel better!" she pouted.

I nodded and started walking toward the steel cafeteria doors. I looked over and saw Tylee get up from his seat and fall in step behind me. I felt butterflies erupt in my stomach from just thinking about what he could possibly wanna tell me. I walked into the hallway and looked behind me at Tyler to ask if I should keep going. He nodded and I started moving again. I could hear the steady beat of every time his foot came in contact with the tile floor, and listened to it as we passed class after class. I slowed when I realized that we had passed every single classroom, and he realization broke in that I had no idea where we were going. Tyler quickly caught up to me and gently grabbed my hand, and softly tugged at my arm, indicating me to follow him. I did. We kept going and he never let go of my hand. I literally felt high solely off the sensation of feeling our fingers intertwined, and the electricity it brought me.

Finally, we got to a door and he opened it up. He walked inside and I stopped when I got to the entrance. The janitors closet? How romantic. I felt my face heat up, thinking about all the stories I've heard from my classmates about things that have happened in this very closet. Suddenly, I didn't want to go inside. "Come on..." Tyler cooed.

Slowly, hesitantly, I stepped inside and closed the door behind me.
