Chapter Thirty Nine; Popular Paige... The Princess (Part Two)

Ginnie Matthews

So... Tyler likes me now. Tyler Knightley, told me in person, that he likes me. Then we shared two almost kisses. This means something. This means that he probably wants to date me. But do I want to date him? Well, I did almost kiss him... Twice. And as I've already established, that means something. "Ginnie, what are you doing?" Jessica nudged me.

We were back at school now. "Nothing important."

"Gin, you've been staring at that wall for the past ten minutes. Now, either there's something really intriguing about that wall that I can't see or you have something VERY important on you mind."

"You're right. I do," I agreed.

"Really, you're actually gonna tell me what it is?"

"When did I say that?"

"Ugh, you're infuriating... You fowl lump of deformity!" Jessica wailed.

She had recently been assigned the part of Shakespeare for Renassaince Day at school and has been carrying around a list of his insults.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "Classy."

She rolled her eyes. "Oh look, here comes Royalty," Jessica scoffed.

That's how she's been referring to Paige, Olivia, and Denise (ew) ever since Paige put a sticker on her locker that said 'Princess' in big, loopy font. Paige walked right by us, not even sparing us a glance. Today, she was wearing a lot of make up and a Chanel backpack her Aunt Flo bought her for her birthday last year and Paige swore never to wear. She's such a fake at this point. I mean... Seriously?

"Oh, look! It's Princess Paige! We should all bow down, now," Jessica scoffed.

The room went silent. Oh God... Denise gasped. Paige slowly turned around, looking completely unfazed, and then smiled. "Grand idea, Jessica."

Jessica turned bright red. "Ya know, Paige, being a royal pain-in-the-ass doesn't make you cool."

"And you would know? Let me guess, you're talking from experience after all these years of being the most popular girl in school," Paige hissed.

"Cat fight," some guy hollered from the back of the class.

Seriously? "Okay," Jessica smiled "the people in here that would rather be friends with.... them, stand on the other side of the room. And people who would rather be friends with us, stand over here."

Oh no.... Everybody stood up and looked around, debating over their choices. But then slowly, miraculously, one by one they all made their way over to where Jess and I were standing. Paige, Olivia, and Denise (ew) all looked close to tears.

"Well, Princess Paige, it looks like you've been dethroned," Jessica grinned.
