the thank me in the title is me thanking myself bc im great and finished a book in time for the deadline
so we have this writing contest and ive been writing this book from the beginning of the school year (it only has fourteen pages bc i procrastinate a lot though) and i finished in time bc its due tomorrow and i am so happy
its called "the villain's journal" and its about this kid named fletcher and he wants to be a villain but he sucks at everything
theres more depth and some shit happens in the last chapters but man oh man am i proud of myself
my friend was reading it during lit/la since she's been helping me with ideas and such and she was actually just freaking out over how much she loved it and i wanted to cry sHES SO GREAT!!
i was just overwhelmed with that great feeling of when you get affection and love from your friends and its great
also everyone in the class was just freaking out over how long my story was because i kept the default arial, 11 size, single spaced font and still got 14 pages of writing
god i just really love writing stories but i always procrastinate too much so i dont get to have that nice feeling of when you just focus on writing and its great
also i stayed up until 12:30 last night typing so i could get to a conclusion point so i better fucking win this contest
then again whether or not i win i still have a fucking amazing story so it doesnt matter as long as i recognize that i like writing and im good at it and i want to write for a living
half of this chapter is probably incoherent rambling but im just so happy because i finished a story and the feeling when you finish a story youve been working on for a long time is amazing
also we had this other story we had to write for the class and it was fiction but the limits we had were 200-600 words
i had to cut off so many adjectives to fit my story into 600 words
and the thing that makes me sad is that the story i submitted wasn't my best work and i know i could do so much better if i were given a higher word limit (like honestly i need 2000+ words to write a good fiction story)
and then the student teacher was defending the word limit by saying that she has to write essays under 600 words for college but fiction narratives arent essays
i dont know im very happy but also very bitter good bye
