You ran and leapt into Max's arms, knocking the both of you to the ground just as the building exploded behind you. You trembled in his arms, laying there on the dust covered road. Those supermutants fought hard, but you two had more explosives. Neither of you moved for 5 whole minutes. Mentally you were examining yourself for broken or injured limbs. The only pain was in your chest- probably from the impact against his chest.

You didn't realize your hands were shaking until you pushed yourself up. Slowly you stood, inhaling dust as you did. Thrown into a coughing fit, you stepped aside so Max could stand. He got up shakily, brushed some hair from your face, and cupped your
cheeks with his hands. Thankfully your ears had stopped ringing so you could hear his next words.

"Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm fine. What about you?" You asked. He dropped his hands and stepped back.

"No I'm okay." He nodded.

"Good, lets go back to the others." You replied. You took a minute to observe your surroundings, then began walking in the correct direction. Max followed close behind as you walked back to the tower. It wasn't very far, which was good because the sky was getting dark.

Walking along, it took about 10 minutes to reach the tower. You looked up at the glorious building. So many memories took place in that tower. Max pushed the doorbell button and you heard a ring. The sound of footsteps running towards the door could be heard and the door was pushed aside. Standing in front of you both was a 10 year old boy holding a pipe rifle at your neck.

"Easy tiger! Just us." You smiled. Mason lowered the gun and ran at you.

"(Y/n)! You're back!" He cheered and wrapped his arms around your waist. You ruffled his hair and you looked up to Adam.

"Teaching him early I see." You smiled. He nodded and stepped inside so the both of you could walk in. You shut the door behind you and Adam gave you a quick hug. The four of you went upstairs to meet with the rest of the group. Yours and Max's 9 year old daughter ran over and you both knelt to hug her. Everyone else welcomed you back and asked about the supermutants. You told them everything from when you got there, to when you both nearly avoided the explosion. The two kid's eyes were as wide as dinner plates as they listened to the story you retold.

Since you rarely let the kids out of the tower, they loved hearing about the adventures you went on and the people you met. They had asked a while back when they'd get to go on a mission, so you talked with Adam about the matter and you both agreed when they turned 16 they could go with you on a mission. They seemed a little upset when you told them, but it was only about 6 years.

In the meantime, you and Adam taught them how to use weapons, administer first aid, and some self defense tactics. You also wanted them to know what to do in case they were kidnapped. You shook your head and snapped back to reality. You and Alesa went to make dinner, then put the food on the table. You ate the food quickly and told everyone you were going to retire for the night. In your room, you snuggled into your blankets and fell asleep quickly.
